  • 'Closer!' Chelsea FanCast #387

    01/05/2017 Duração: 02h05min

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, the Girl Who Likes Balls - Alex Churchill, and Chelsea journalist Dan Levene to look back at two good wins against Southampton and Everton that take Chelsea 'closer' to winning the title! On the show tonight we applaud Pedro – something of an unsung hero and to whom I owe an apology. We also big up Gary Cahill who for the second time in a week showed his captaincy credentials but will he get the armband for keeps next season? In part two we ask are Fabregas and Willian the perfect impact subs; who won the heavyweight clash between Costa and Lukaku and will the later replace the former next season? And we look at the home straight and ask what could possibly go wrong? In part three, we look back at last week’s win against Southampton which saw Costa return at last to goal scoring form. We also ask if Ryan Bertrand was the one that got away. In part four we have a couple of emails the first of which asks what our match day superstitions are and we celebrate...

  • The Kerry Dixon Preview Show - Everton v Chelsea

    27/04/2017 Duração: 31min

Stamford Chidge and Kerry Dixon look back at the FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Spurs and Tuesday night's Premier League match against Southampton as well as previewing the match on Sunday away at Everton. Kerry discusses whether Conte took a gamble by not starting with Hazard and Costa against Spurs and dismisses the idea that Spurs were the better team on the day. With 2 goals against Southampton it looks like Costa is well and truly back, which bodes well for the run in. Kerry is looking forward to a 'Heavyweight' strikers clash with Costa and Lukaku matching up in Sunday's fixture against Everton. Is this a must win for Chelsea or can we afford to drop points in what on paper is a tough away fixture?  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • 'Cock Block!' Chelsea FanCast #386

    24/04/2017 Duração: 02h04min

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Alex Churchill 'The Girl Who Likes Balls' and Football Agent Seb O'Mahoney to chew the fat over Chelsea's 7th FA Cup semi-final since 2000 and even sweeter, a win against Sp*rs. On the show tonight we look at the massive gamble by Antonio Conte and how it paid off. In part two we applaud Hazard – a man on fire – who’s contribution to big games is getting better and better and discuss Matic’s thunderbolt and say well done to Kante for winning the PFA Player of the Year award. In part three, we discuss the 2 sevens clash as Chelsea show their Wembley class whilst Spurs continue their losing streak at Wembley and semi-finals. Will this loss cause significant psychological damage to their title challenge? In part four we have loads of emails from all over the world.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • The Kerry Dixon Show - FA Cup semi-final & John Terry Tribute

    20/04/2017 Duração: 34min

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon to discuss Chelsea's defeat to Man Utd in the Premier League last weekend; look forward to the FA Cup semi-final against Spurs on Saturday and give a heartfelt tribute to John Terry who announced that this will be his last season with Chelsea this week. Kerry discussed his frustration with Chelsea's performance against Man Utd whilst acknowledging the part that Mourinho's tactics played. Eden Hazard needs to step up if he wants to join the likes of Messi and Ronaldo as one of the best in the world. Whilst he was starved of service, Costa too needs to be at his best for the run in and Kerry believes he'll find his scoring boots again soon. Turning to the FA Cup Final against Spurs, it will be a tough game and is too close to call. If our big players such as Hazard and Costa play at their best then Kerry believes Chelsea will win, if not...doesn't bear thinking about! We wrap up the show with Kerry's tribute to John Terry who in many respects is a... &

  • Rattled! Chelsea FanCast #385

    18/04/2017 Duração: 02h04s

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Nick Verlaney from the 'London is Blue' podcast and ESPN's Chelsea correspondent Liam Twomey to look back at Sunday's defeat to Man Utd; look ahead to the FA Cup semi-final and give a tribute to John Terry. On the show tonight we ask were Chelsea tactically undone by a classic Jose one off bit of party poopery or was it simply another one of those days? In part two we make the case for not changing the back three; have a detailed look at the causes for concern and the factors in mitigation before looking at possible salvation ahead. In part three, we say thank you John Terry – Captain, Leader, Legend as we look back at the career of arguably one of Chelsea’s greatest ever players. Read Stamford Chidge's tribute to JT here http://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/players/last-man-standing-gone-tribute-12908100 In part four we have emails from New York; India; Canada; Mexico and Cornwall!  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • The Kerry Dixon Show - Utd v Chelsea

    13/04/2017 Duração: 29min

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon to look back at the win against Bournemouth and look forward to the match against Man Utd this weekend. Another great team performance under pressure to keep Chelsea top of the league with the win against Bournemouth. Moses and Alonso proving yet again that they bring balance to the team and Eden Hazard proving that the big players step up when it counts but did Costa get unfair criticism for a somewhat poor performance? Looking ahead to the Utd game Kerry thinks it might be a tight affair - Utd specialise in draws and Mourinho won't want to lose to Chelsea for the third time this season. He may well be cautious given their Europa League commitments. Ultimately a draw might not be a disaster for Chelsea with a comfortable lead at the top of the table and surely Spurs will not win all of their remaining games which they must do to have a sniff of the title.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • 'Balance to the Force!' Chelsea FanCast #384

    10/04/2017 Duração: 02h06min

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Clayton Beerman and Tony Glover to discuss Chelsea's wins against Man City and Bournemouth. On the show tonight we ask is Costa a shanker or a shirker as our top striker appears to be entering a slump in form just at the wrong time. In part two we discuss why Marcus Alonso and Victor Moses bring balance to the force and praise Conte in making them better players whilst also adopting a system to bring the best out of our best player Eden Hazard. In part three, we look back at the win against City last week and again applaud Conte for his tactical switch which led to a defensive master class and a crucial and possibly title deciding win against a threatening City side. In part four we have emails from our listeners from all over the world!  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • The Kerry Dixon Show - Chelsea v City

    06/04/2017 Duração: 29min

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon to report back on a massive win against Man City which keeps us in pole position in the title race. Eden Hazard steps up yet again in a big game and bags two goals in the process as Conte shepherded Chelsea to a fine win against a dangerous Man City side. Antonio Conte showed his metal and outwitted the 'best' manager in the world Pep Guardiola by bolstering Chelsea's midfield in the second half with a tactical switch. We closed the midfield gaps, sat deeper and offered a master class in discipline, how to defend a lead and close a game out - not pretty and not for the feint hearted but very effective and the best attacking team in the league had no answer to it. Thanks to a superb all round team performance where everyone turned up and did their bit we now need 18 points from 8 games to win the title, starting with Saturday's match against Bournemouth. Costa has not scored for three games but has never gone four Premier League games without...

  • April Fools - Chelsea FanCast #383

    03/04/2017 Duração: 01h55min

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Chelsea writer Mark Worrall and Alex Churchill aka 'The Girl Who Likes Balls' to dig the bones out of a somewhat nerve inducing defeat to Crystal Palace. On the show tonight we wonder whether Saturday was simply one of those days or was our inability to find the onion bag a cause for deeper concern? In part two we discuss lightning striking not once but twice as Chelsea concede 2 sloppy goals in 90 seconds. Is the defence getting a case of the wobbles? Were there mitigating factors in the defeat or do Palace deserve some credit? And with some tough fixtures coming up and the gap between us and Spurs shortened to 7 points are we getting nervous? In part three, we’ve got emails from Spike, Alan Conway and Nick Cotter for you plus news on the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust Jack Whitley crowdfunding campaign. In part four we have news about books by the Girl Who Likes Balls (aka Alex Churchill) and Marco’s Italian Job; plus more emails from Warren Galley, Colby Wegter...

  • The Kerry Dixon Show - Chelsea v Palace & City

    30/03/2017 Duração: 27min

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon to discuss the recent rumours about Eden Hazard, Sanchez and Lukaku, as well as looking ahead to the Premier League fixtures against Crystal Palace and Manchester City. Chidge and Kerry ponder whether there is any truth in the rumours about Hazard, Sanchez and Lukaku. Chelsea don't need to sell Hazard and he will be hard to replace whilst Kerry believes that Lukaku is now good enough and ready to lead the line at Chelsea and Sanchez would be a good acquisition if we could fit him in to our line up. Looking at the Palace game Kerry believes that while Sam Allardyce has clearly made a difference to Palace, Chelsea are still a good two goals better than them at home. Chidge believes that an early goal for Chelsea will help us to secure the points. If Chelsea beat City on Wednesday it will all but end their title challenge. They will come to attack which might play in to Chelsea's hands. But, they may just cancel each other out. There could be goals... &

  • The Kerry Dixon Show - Kerry's Question Time

    23/03/2017 Duração: 34min

Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon joins Stamford Chidge for their weekly catch up on all things Chelsea! Kerry and Chidge discuss a massive 3 points against Stoke; Chelsea making a big statement on their march to the title; and praise for Costa's discipline and Cahill's leadership. Kerry also has a quick word about the Germany v England game and believes that England are heading in the right direction in spite of losing 1-0. We then open up the show to questions from the listeners as Kerry answers questions on who was his favourite strike partner; memorable moments as a player; favourite manager and how would he have fared in the modern game and what would he be worth?  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • 'The Harder They Come!' Chelsea FanCast #382

    20/03/2017 Duração: 02h01min

Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Football.London's Chelsea FC correspondent Oliver Harbord discuss a hard fought battle and massive 3 points for Chelsea against Stoke on Saturday. On the show tonight we argue that the harder they come, the harder they fall as Chelsea stand up to Stoke’s fouling by rota to come away with a hard earned 3 points at Stoke. But did the referee manage it or bottle it? In part two we discuss how Costa walked the line in a performance rightly praised by his manager. We ponder the squad depth as Chelsea pull off a win without talisman Hazard and we give due credit to the unfairly lambasted Chelsea skipper – One Gary Cahill. Is the criticism of our oak hearted vice-captain unfair? In part three, we’ve got emails from Peter Briant and Alan Gavurin for you plus news on the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust Jack Whitley crowdfunding campaign. In part four we have news about books by the Girl Who Likes Balls (aka Alex Churchill) and Football Factory author John King; the sad... &

  • The Kerry Dixon Show - Stoke v Chelsea

    16/03/2017 Duração: 29min

Stamford Chidge joins Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon to look back at the victory against Man Utd in the FA Cup and look ahead to Stoke away this Saturday. A great atmosphere and perhaps a more tense affair than it might have been against Utd in the FA Cup quarter-final last Monday. Kerry applauds yet another stunning performance by Kante and even Michael Oliver gets some praise for stopping Utd kicking Hazard out of the game. We now look forward to Spus in the semi-final although Kerry admits that drawing Arsenal or City might have been an easier proposition. With Lukaku appearing to want out of Everton, would Kerry like to see him back at Chelsea and what would this mean for Diego Costa? Also will Antonio Conte be backed in the transfer market this summer as we prepare to launch a challenge for more European silverware? Turning to Stoke, both Chidge and Kerry recognise that this is a tricky and potentially tough fixture for Chelsea - the players will need to be 'on-it' from the first whistle. If we win... &

  • 'Judas-Gate!' Chelsea FanCast #381

    15/03/2017 Duração: 02h08min

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Tony Glover to look back at the FA Cup quarter-final victory over Man Utd and ex-wife Jose Mourinho! On the show tonight we investigate Judas-Gate. Did Jose Mourinho deserve the abuse he got last night; was it really as widespread as the press made out and any way, isn’t it time for everyone to just move on? In part two we discuss Utd’s clear tactic to kick Hazard out of the game thankfully coming unstuck; poor finishing giving us too much stress; drool at Kante’s imperious performance again and look forward to the semi-final against Spurs at our second home not there’s. In part three, we’ve got a monster selection of emails from you plus news on the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust Jack Whitley crowdfunding campaign. In part four we have news about books by the Girl Who Likes Balls (aka Alex Churchill) and Football Factory author John King; the sad plight of a young autistic lad facing a football banning order who needs our support and a special...

  • The Kerry Dixon Show - Chelsea v Man Utd (FA Cup)

    09/03/2017 Duração: 23min

Stamford Chidge and Kerry Dixon chew the fat over the important win in the London derby against West Ham and look ahead to Monday night's FA Cup Quarter Final against Man Utd. Kerry praises Chelsea's controlled win against West Ham and another big 3 points edging us ever closer to the title. As you would expect from a former Chelsea No. 9 Kerry puts up a swift defence against the Costa knockers, in terms of his goals and overall contribution to the Chelsea cause. Looking ahead to the FA Cup Quarter Final against Man Utd, Kerry feels that Ibrahimovic will be a big miss for Utd, confesses he would never have had a 'man-bun' and thinks Conte will put out a strong side to ensure Chelsea have another trip to Wembley. But what is Kerry's score prediction? You'll have to listen and find out!  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • Knees up Mother Brown! Chelsea FanCast #380

    07/03/2017 Duração: 02h02min

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Clayton Beerman and the 'Girl Who Likes Balls' - Alex Churchill to discuss last night's win against West Ham and to look forward to the FA Cup Quarter-Final against Man Utd next Monday. On the show tonight we discuss how combating the aerial threat led to another big 3 points with the pressure on. In part two we ask have rumours of Eden Hazard’s demise been exaggerated and why on earth are people giving Costa – who has now scored 17 premier league goals – stick? Something about unsuccessful touches apparently – probably more to do with keyboard warriors’ fumbling’s with women. In part three, we move the emails up a part because we have so many and they are absolutely fantastic this week. We’ve got emails from Paul Hay on chants; Roy Stennings on his incredible history supporting Chelsea; Ross Parke’s homage to the back three and Harrison Leggo pleading with the support to sing something other than Antonioooo. In part four we have a look ahead to next Monday’s...

  • Chelsea Supporters Trust SGM 25/02/2017

    05/03/2017 Duração: 01h27min

Chelsea Supporters' Trust held their second Special General Meeting of the season after the Swansea City match. The SGMs are a good chance to report back to the membership, in person on progress with the issues we are mandated to pursue and have a face to face dialogue with the members. Held in a venue new to us, The Lillie Langtry Pub we were well looked after and a decent turnout from the membership were updated on issues such as the Membership Survey and the move to a Temporary Stadium. In addition, board members reported back on initiatives such as 'Kick-Off Times'; the Stamford Bridge Redevelopment; work on improving the atmosphere at the Bridge; work with Supporters Direct, The Football Supporters Federation and with fellow Premier League Trusts and work with the Overseas Membership. Cliff Auger formerly announced our work towards the commemoration of 'Founder's Day' at the Brompton Cemetery and our continued work helping to clean up Chelsea related graves at the cemetery. After formal... &nbs

  • The Kerry Dixon Show - West Ham v Chelsea

    02/03/2017 Duração: 30min

Stamford Chidge and Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon look back at Chelsea's win against Swansea last Saturday and look ahead to Monday night's London derby against West Ham. Cesc Fabregas takes the plaudits this week but Kerry is equally impressed with the form of Pedro and that Conte is forging his version of Chelsea in to a formidable team, all playing for each other and the manager. Unlike the bizarre rumours suggesting that Conte may leave for Inter Milan in the summer, Chidge and Kerry firmly believe that the attraction of managing Chelsea in the Champions' League and building a great Chelsea team over the next few years will be too strong. Looking ahead to West Ham on Monday, Kerry thinks that as with all local derbies it will be a tough match for Chelsea. Whilst Andy Carroll presents an aerial threat and could exploit an apparent weakness Chelsea has in defending headers, Cahill and Luiz need to step up to the challenge and deal with it. Either way, Kerry is confident that if Conte has the team 100%... &#

  • Return of the Mak! Chelsea FanCast #379

    27/02/2017 Duração: 01h54min

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Tony Glover and Joe Tweeds to look back at another big three points for Chelsea as the tick off the wins that will hopefully take them to the title! On the show tonight we ask with the timely return of cult hero Makalele on Saturday how fitting it is that his obvious successor, N’Golo Kante played such a blinder. But is Kante better than Makalele or are they just different? In part two we celebrate another important win; the return of Fabregas; applaud Costa and Pedro and give props to some unsung Chelsea heroes. In part three, we analyse the run in and look at potential banana skins or difficult games as we work out where we will find the 29 points Antonio Conte believes we need to win the title. And talking of unsung heroes we also look at why some of our most deserving players don’t yet have a song. In part four we have an email from John Power and a bit of a Q&A for our Mixlr listeners.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out informatio

  • The Kerry Dixon Show - Chelsea v Swansea

    23/02/2017 Duração: 26min

Stamford Chidge & Kerry Dixon look back at Chelsea's FA Cup win against Wolves and look forward to the quarter-final tie against Man Utd. We also preview the match against Swansea coming up on Saturday. Kerry is very happy to see Costa on the score sheet again and feels that it will bode well for the title run in over the next 13 games. Conversely with Eden Hazard suffering from a dip in form, Kerry believes that he has too much quality to dweel there too long. Looking ahead to the FA Cup quarter-final against Man Utd, whilst not the ideal draw, being at home and with the tie sandwiched between a home and away Europa League Cup tie for Utd, should give Chelsea a small advantage and makes us favourites. Whilst Swansea will be no push overs with former Chelsea assistant manager Paul Clement having dramatically turned their recent form around, Kerry expects Chelsea to turn them over by a good 2-3 goals. Of course, if we do then we'll continue to keep the pressure on our rivals, three of whom are not...
