Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Clayton Beerman in an attempt to understand the news that John 'Captain, Leader, Legend' Terry's days at Stamford Bridge are numbered and to discuss the Cup win against MK Dons. Tonight we were supposed to be talking about an excellent 5-1 win against MK Dons, an Oscar hat-trick, hell, even a goal by Eden Hazard. But instead, we learnt last night that it seems that John Terry’s illustrious career with the club is coming to an end. We all knew he couldn’t go on forever, but surely the club would have the sense to realise the impact of the leadership characteristics someone like JT might have on the club on or off the pitch at a time of major transition. Is there such a thing as gratitude and loyalty anymore, let alone good management? Whatever the ins and outs – and I’m sure there is fault on both sides – it bears yet more testament to the emotional disconnect and palpable discord that so many supporters increasingly have with the club and...

There really is nothing in football quite like beating those specialists in failure Arsenal Football Club, if only for the complete meltdown by their nerdy fans afterwards. They now haven’t even managed to score a goal against Chelsea in over 9 ½ hours of football – 6 matches. Add to that we’ve beaten them twice in our worst season for 30 years. Let’s hope we’ve terminally damaged their title chances – that would be sweet and some compensation for our trauma this season. Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd and Dan Levene to discuss the 'cauldron of hate', a 6 pointer win and all of the fall out regarding the dismissal of Jose Mourinho. What a mad old week. Eugene finally wielded the axe and Jose Mourinho – the best manager in Chelsea’s history was sacked with the club 1 point away from the relegation zone. Right decision? Only time will tell. The immediate effect was a far better performance against Sunderland on Saturday and a much needed 3 points, but the game seemed almost secondary to the atmosphere in the ground which whilst not quite as toxic as some had feared certainly left the players and board in no doubt how the supporters felt about their part in Jose Mourinho’s downfall. For me, the blame should probably be apportioned equally, but what leaves me hurting most is the untimely reminder that we, the Chelsea supporters, are irrelevant when it comes to the egos of overpaid under performing players and managers and self-interested short-termist...

Just when we thought we were out, they pull us back in! Having seen the glimmer of recovery for the last few weeks, our faith and optimism crash landed with a defeat to newly promoted Bournemouth, yes Bournemouth. In truth we were mugged off with a typical smash and grab display by the cherries and we should have won comfortably – but just how many times have we said that this season? One only wonders what Roman was thinking as he watched the horror through his fingers. Is this the beginning of the end for Jose? The recent Annual Membership survey was discussed in depth as well as updates and progress on actions from motions passed at the AGM including: Stamford Bridge redevelopment; Chelsea Pitch Owners future; Atmosphere & Safe Standing; Ticketing & touting issues. Three games unbeaten, three clean sheets, defensive solidity and the team playing like a team again – but is Chelsea really back and what of the rift between Jose and Costa – surely there will only be one winner there. There was no winner in the 0-0 draw against Spurs on Sunday, as Jose used Hazard as a false number 9 with some success, but it says much when most Chelsea supporters were happy with the point. Whilst Chelsea FanCast winning at the Football Blogging Awards was somewhat a surprise, the 1-0 win against Norwich on Saturday was nothing short of a massive relief. Our first win after 3 league defeats and to say the whistle was greeted with a fervor a kin to winning a trophy would be an understatement. Of course in reality this was no skin of the teeth win as Chelsea were on top for most of the game and should have run out comfortable winners by three goals or more. The team’s inability to finish being the only blot on an otherwise much improved performance in the defence and midfield. Hopefully onwards and upwards. That’s now 7 Premier League defeats out of 12 and the decline in our fortunes seems irreversible right now. Can we really be facing a relegation battle? It is certainly relegation form. I for one saw signs of a much better performance against Stoke on Saturday and on another day Chelsea would have won but it just seems that we don’t know how to win football matches at the moment. But I genuinely believe that the rot will stop with Matic, Hazard and others looking more like the players we know and love. Groundhog Day at the Bridge as Chelsea repeated almost exactly the recent capitulation against Southampton, but this time much worse as it was against the scousers. All was looking good with a goal by Ramires after 4 minutes and Chelsea seemingly in control, sitting back and playing on the counter for the first half. But then one loss of concentration, one mistake, Liverpool equalize, Chelsea heads drop and they lose their sixth game out of eleven 3-1. No wonder Jose is lost for words – it’s safe to say we all are too. A 2-1 defeat; a goal denied by technology; a goal ruled out for a hairline offside; a player sent off; the asst. coach and the manager both sent off; 6 players booked sums up the season pretty well and leads me to the undeniable conclusion that this season is well and truly a load of bollocks. After a decent performance against Kiev in midweek redolent of Chelsea’s title winning season, it was two steps back again in the Premier League with a defeat to the high flying Hammers. But are we suffering from some serious bad luck with decisions or were we fairly and squarely ironed out. Only the Chelsea FanCast has the answers. The Chelsea FanCast goes retro tonight with Darren 'Dazza' Mantle & Pablo joining Stamford Chidge and Dan Silver. Finally Chelsea get a win at home and a clean sheet and we have now reached the lofty heights of 11th in the Premier League with 11 points. Keep this up and we should get the 38 points we need to avoid relegation! Joking aside, the win was great but in truth the performance was poor. But hopefully getting back to basics, re-learning how to defend, keeping clean sheets and digging out results will lead to the confidence flooding back and out of that better performances will grow. So Chelsea and Jose’s run of poor form against their bogey team – Newcastle – continues. Jose was pretty forthright after the match claiming that the collective first half effort by the team deserved a rating of minus one, and would have substituted at least 6 players if he could. Thankfully the introduction of Ramires and Willian seemed to wake up Chelsea and in all honesty we could have walked off with all three points. We all knew the perfect antidote to a dismal start to the season would be a game against perennial bottle merchants Arsenal, and so it proved. Public enemy number one, Diego Costa mugged off the whining goons with a display of calculated rage and dark arts and of course the Arse capitulated in a froth of indignity and injustice only surpassed by the copious amounts of froth laden latte they drink. It goes from bad to worse as Chelsea have their worst start to a season since 1978/9 with 3 defeats in 5 games. What is going on? How can a team that won the league a mere three months ago, go so quickly from Champs to chumps? Is it form? Is it a lack of quality? Is it poor preparation? Is there unrest in the dressing room? Has Jose lost his special touch? Or is it all down to a lack of confidence? So many questions, some of which we will attempt to answer on the show tonight. It goes from bad to worse, as Chelsea slumped to their second defeat in two games against a well-organized, physical and pacey Crystal Palace. But what is probably more galling is the lack of form of the four most important players from last season. How have the Fantastic Four turned in to the Feckless Four, and more important what can Chelsea and in particular Jose Mourinho do to turn things around. Chelsea got their first win of the season under their belt on Sunday to calm the nerves for the relegation battle to come – well that’s what the red-tinted media would have us believe. New boy Pedro replete with his dodgy tache was the star of the show, but it was good to see goal pig Costa back on the scoresheet and pocket dynamo Cesar Azpilicueta scoring his first Premier League goal. Chelsea has become a veritable Spanish Armada. But it was not all plain sailing largely thanks to our all too frequent nemesis, Mark Twattenburg, who harshly sent off JT with all the relish of Dracula about to bite into a voluptuous blonde virgin.
