We look back over the festive games, from which we picked up four points from nine, with a particularly close look at the defeat at Sutton. We also ponder what happens to the squad in January, with four departures and one semi-arrival having already been announced. Stu was joined by Aaron, Rob, Spike and Tom L to discuss the Xmas football and look back at 2022 with our Player of 2022, Goal of 2022, Moment of 2022 and finally our Best XI of 2022.

We have selection dilemmas on the horizon. How does a team, unbeaten in seven (or eight depending on your view of B-Team Trophies and/or penalty shoot-out losses), re-integrate a striker with a knack of scoring goals without disrupting form and momentum? Or is it quite easy as the unbeaten run actually masks some rather dire performances? Nick and Stu discuss that, as well as whether Ayoub Assal is a million-pound player or not.

After a fortnight away, we're back once again with the ill behaviour. The team is too: once, against Weymouth, in a bad way, and once, against Leyton Orient, in a good way. The old Crazy Gang was back for a famous, memorable night at Plough Lane. What did we make of it all? Plus we talk London derbies, Curzon Ashton, FA Cup, Salford, kits, and old grounds. Nick and Stu take on dodgy internet to provide you all with talk of a WIN. Yes, you read that correctly: A WIN. But there are questions to answer about how the squad is shaping up, especially in regard to one player's best role. Injuries, a new Managing Director, and Dons Trust resolutions are also discussed, and there's also a rant about cars.

Michael Rootes is one of a select group of players to have been on the books on both Wimbledon FC and AFC Wimbledon. He joins Nick and Stu to discuss his time at both, with stories of Chris Perry, Neal Ardley, John Fashanu, and Stanley Reed. We also revisit his one and only AFCW appearance in 2003: a most memorable debut that featured on the very first 9yrspodcast. Michael also gives his thoughts on the current squad's season so far, and we discuss the draw at Bradford.

It's the Brexit question. You know what we mean - we don't even have to say it. So, what does the future hold for AFC Wimbledon? Do we have a plan? Do we need to lose control to turn the ship around? Is the new Managing Director the solution to all our problems? Nick and Stu shoot the breeze, as well as talk a little bit about the football.

Somewhat tardy - we do apologise - but we have this week's podcast for you just in time to preview our visit to Stockport. Nick and Stu discuss the signing of Ryley Towler on loan from Bristol City, and what he brings to the side, before looking at our limitations as our squad, as evidenced in the defeat to Barrow.

Erm, Josh Davison is on the show this week. The clue is in the title. Our new number nine talks about the win at Crawley, his partnership with Nathan Young-Coombes, his time at Swindon and Charlton and Forest Green, his dad's memories of John Fashanu, and the potential of renationalising the railways. Either side of that, Nick and Stu have all the usual, including a happy memory of smashing Watford. Absolutely smashing them.

We are determined to have fun this season, so a 5-2 reverse at Mansfield on Tuesday was less than ideal. We address it head on and discuss the tactics behind the defeat, as well as the issue of a red card (which the FA has since determined was incorrectly given ... !!!), but then we're back to the fun with talk of Crawley, Sutton, other times we've conceded five, man-bags, and transfers. In the face of a disappointing week, we've tried to lift spirits (until Nick ruins it at the end).

Your common or garden podcast this week, as Nick and Stu review our draw at Hartlepool and League Cup exit to Gillingham. Are people reading too much into these two results? Should we not be happy with a team that is coming together nicely, if just a little lacking in front of goal? But more importantly - just how weird an evening was Tuesday night?! We also have our new features and Stu looks to improve his performance on Jackson Five.

Johnnie Jackson joins us this week to discuss the win over Gillingham. We also talk about the transfer window, away travel, family, switching off from football, and penguins. We also learn who he thinks is the best player he ever played with, his toughest opponent, and the dressing room that he thought was "a bit of a stinker". Stu and Nick go on to preview the trip to Hartlepool, play our new game Jackson Five, and introduce our new feature, "On That Side Of It".
