    Kevin starts the episode by breaking down the update in negotiations that have taken place over the past 48 hours. Both sides met on three different occasions on Sunday. There was a brief sense of optimism on Sunday morning when a report came out that that sides were "close" but that was quickly debunked by multiple other outlets. Kevin then talks multiple trades over the past 4 years that could come back to haunt the teams that gave up "prospects". The Pirates will debut SS Oneil Cruz who was acquired in 2017 at the deadline for a rental player. Rays prospect Curtis Mead is another name who was dealt in 2019 to keep an eye on this summer. Kevin wraps up the show by counting down to #1 in the Top MLB Players of All-Time. #1 should be no surprise with Babe Ruth taking home the honors. This is the first week both sides have agreed to meet everyday with an MLB imposed deadline of Feb 28th to start the season on time. We are now through 4 of the 5 days and Kevin believes it is safe to say this year will not be starting on time. Kevin then talks about the opening weekend of college baseball and discusses the movement in the top 25. Long Beach State was the biggest climber from 24 up to 12 and East Carolina fell the farthest from 12 to 25. Liberty and Maryland also entered the rankings this week.     Kevin starts the episode by talking about the meeting on Thursday between MLB and MLBPA and how it only lasted 15 minutes. The Players made an updated proposal but there are still huge gaps that remain in getting a deal done. We are getting dangerously close to the delay of opening day at the end of March. Kevin then talks about Ryan Zimmerman announcing his retirement. Known as "Mr. National" Zimmerman will go down as the greatest player in the Nationals franchise. Ryan is the career leading for the Nationals in games, runs, hits, total bases, doubles, home runs and RBIs. Truly amazing career. Following that Patrick brings the oral history of Frank Robinson's amazing 21-year career. Robinson won two MVP awards, made 14 All-Star games and has his number 20 retired by three teams.     Kevin starts the show my discussing the latest on the CBA negotiations. The past week was a "reset" for both parties. The owners met in Orlando, while the players met in Arizona and Florida. It is being reported that the owners will finally make a counter offer to the players this week after waiting for almost two weeks to continue negotiations. Kevin then talks about 10 players who are returning from injury after missing the majority or all of last season that could make a huge difference in 2022. There are multiple teams who were decimated by injury last year and are counting on these players playing at a high level once they return. The state of things is good because both sides are still talking and close on big ideas, but they are very far apart on the smaller parts of the CBA.
