When writing his letters throughout the New Testament, Paul always identifies himself as an Apostle, called by God. This is found throughout the New Testament with James, Peter and Jude, as well. Everything they write about from there on out is based upon their identity of Christ.  You can build your identity around any number of things today. But, there is real power in a God given identity. Take Jesus, for instance. All throughout the New Testament we find that Jesus is the bread of life, the light of the world, the good shepherd, the gate for the sheep, the resurrection and the life, the way, the truth and the life, and the true vine. Who are you? What is your identity? Take time to pray, read the Bible and discover your identity in Christ today. You ARE a child of God. You ARE forgiven. Are you experiencing JOY in your life currently? One way we can have more JOY is to look at how a poor widow lived. Looking at Mark 12:41 Jesus observed people put money into the treasury. Some people put in large sums of money. Jesus pointed out the poor widow who put in only two copper coins. He noticed that she put God first even though she did not have much. She loved God and truly gave the most. A generous attitude and simply thinking of others brings more JOY. God blesses us and others over and above. In Luke 13:1-5 Jesus was asked a series of questions. He didn't get into a theological discussion. Rather, he teaches us about repentance. The lesson we get from Old Testament punishment or current suffering is not why is God so unfair. It is about what it mean for you to repent. Jesus is a holy judge and while we all deserve death for our actions, He gives us mercy and grace. The challenge for us is what does it look like for us to repent and bear fruit today. What comes to mind when you think about loving others the way Christ calls us to? When you think about this do you think about caring for the less fortunate and lonely? People have different attitudes before they go to the Dentist. One is to prepare a whole lot ahead and clean one's teeth thoroughly. The second attitude is, "I pay the dentist to clean my teeth, so he can do it." Is that how we view our relationship with God? Do we need to get ourselves right first or allow God to cleanse us? Paul lived his life as a living sacrifice. It was an act of worship to help others know and experience Christ. This is how Paul lived his life every day. Why do we believe in spiritual matters? What evidence does a person have for that belief? We all have doubts some days and ask ourselves where God is. An awful time was when #3 Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills had a cardiac arrest. He was recuperating and the team saw positive things happen associated with prayer.
