Earlier this month in Etobicoke, Ontario, a mass shooting took place with two men fatally shot. A 14 year old was one of 2 suspects who is alleged to have fired more than 50 times into a community gathering at a local school. The youth has been charged with 2 counts of first degree murder, as well as 7 counts of attempted murder. He cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The victims had been enjoying grilling food and playing dominos after a soccer game. They were 46 and 61 years of age.  - The concern over increasing youth violence is growing across Canada. Globe and Mail story this week reports Harjit Sajjan in 2021, when Minister of National Defence "instructed special forces to rescue Afghan Sikhs during fall of Kabul. The story relates the 225 Afghan Sikhs in question had no connection to Canada, while Canada's military, including the elite special operators at JTF 2, had been tasked at rescue/evacuation of Canadian citizens and Afghans who had worked for Canada during the international military operations in the country. JTF 2 was diverted and unable to connect with the 225 Afghan Sikhs. Sajjan says the story/report is "B.S." A news story which dominated national headlines just weeks ago. The urgency has not ended, nor even diminished, even though it's not a daily topic of discussion now, except among Canadians directly engaged. The issue of drug addiction, the "safer supply (of drugs)" and the sale of 'safer supply' drugs by addicts who received them free to Canadian teens is a national concern, centred in British Columbia. Some of these teens have died of drug overdoses. Justin Trudeau's security advisor is playing down the federal government concealing documents relating directly to foreign interference in Canada from the head of the inquiry Justice Marie-Josee Hogue which Justice Hogue has requested. Position of the Trudeau government is it has chosen to provide the cabinet confidences it considers "most relevant" to the inquiry. This after Trudeau refused to answer reporters (including Global News) question about whether any Liberal MPs were named in the NSICOP report as witting or semi-witting partners of foreign governments. As well, the RCMP Commissioner on CBC said he hopes MPs don't name any politicians accused of aiding foreign powers. Many if not most Canadians want to know exactly that information. In 2008, Allan Schoenborn killed his three children, a crime for which he was judged to be NCR or Not Criminally Responsible because of mental health issues. Since then Schoenborn has been held at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam, B.C. The hearing was attempted in April of this year but proceedings devolved into chaos.
