Doug finishes up Hebrews 9 this week looking at Chapter 9:23-28. The writer to the Hebrews shows us how Jesus sacrifice is better and what it gives us - a forever relationship with God as our Father, it completed the requirements of the New Covenant, and it confirmed those who are HIS! Because we have been shown mercy and God's justice has been satisfied, we now have 24/7 access to the Father because of JESUS! This was the Easter week SWAT Bible study where Doug shared a video of a Roman Crossbuilder who was a skeptic about Jesus. It is a powerful drama that ends with a call to come to the CROSS! Doug continues to work through Hebrews, this week looking at Chapter 9:1-14. The Old Covenant was never supposed to be the end all. It was merely a copy, shadow, and pattern of what was coming. It pointed to JESUS! In this chapter, the writer makes clear the old pattern of the tabernacle was just a symbol pointing towards Christ. We now have 24/7 access to the Father because of JESUS! This is a very important teaching on why Jesus had a legitimate claim to the priesthood even though He was not from the tribe of Levi. He was appointed a priest in the order of Melchizedek!!
