    Purdue Polytechnic hosts high school juniors and seniors each year for a day of activities that give a them a good idea of what a day in the life is like for our students.  For some, this reinforces their decision to apply and accept admission to our location.  For others, it reinforces their decision to continue exploring other colleges.  Either way, if we help students to find the right college for their goals and learning style, we are successful. In this episode, Matt, Victoria and Patrick interview a few of the students who attended Black and Gold Day 2018 to get their thoughts on the experience and the process of choosing a college.  Enjoy!

  • Make Like A Girl 2018

    On October 12, 2018, we hosted 28 young women, 9th through 12th grade, from area high schools who are interested in the pathway from high school to a lucrative career in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).  In this episode you will hear Victoria and Myranda interview a few of the girls who attended, and also 3 of the 4 women who graduated from Purdue Polytechnic Institute Anderson working in lucrative career positions and making a difference in the world.  At the end of the episode you will hear the four alumni who returned for the day to assist with the event, along with two other engineers, speak to the girls about their education and jobs, and what it is like to be working in what is currently a male dominated field.   • Second Harvest Food Bank - Fill A Bowl Luncheon

    On April 20, Second Harvest Food Bank hosted their first Madison County Fill A Bowl luncheon at Purdue Polytechnic Anderson - a fund raising event for their organization.  Second Harvest Food Bank is a philanthropic organization whose mission is to fight hunger.  In 2017, they delivered nearly 8 million pounds of food to families throughout 8 counties in East Central Indiana.   In this episode of Assembly Required, you will hear Matthew and Victoria interview several of the people attending the Fill A Bowl luncheon, including the SHFB Executive Director, Tim Kean, and the Director of Purdue Polytechnic Anderson, Corey Sharp, who serves on their Board of Directors.   Visit www.curehunger.org to learn more about the important work that is done by this fine organization.     We were honored to have the Governor of Indiana, Eric Holcomb, visit our location on Monday, February 19, 2018 and Abe had the honor of interviewing him for this podcast.  Also in this episode, you will hear Veronica and Matt reflect on the governor's visit and interview Professor Lorri Barnett, discussing the ways Purdue Polytechnic Anderson contributes to the development of a skilled Indiana workforce.  With approximately 1,000,000 jobs being created in Indiana in the next 10 years, workforce development is a big part of the Governor's agenda.  Enjoy!

    There is no way around it, completing a Purdue University degree is hard work.  Many of our students find internships in order to apply what they learn in their classes and labs in real world settings.  These experiences bring relevance to their coursework and make the hard work of being a successful student a little easier to do.  In this episode, Abe, Megan, Victoria and Matt speak with Junior Engineering Technology student, Cameron Smith, as he reflects on his nearly two year internship/job with Mursix Corporation in Yorktown, IN.
