Back into it this Black Metal January with an overdue conversation about the latest epic from Panopticon, The Rime of Memory!

Oftentimes albums which would go on to become influential and formative works for entire genres have a certain spark to them that, in retrospect, seems obvious and apparent. You listen and can go "Oh, I understand how this became important to a lot of people." Even if the quality isn't great or the songwriting isn't as tight as it could be, that spark is there and you can feel it. This isn't one of those albums.

It's once again time to gather around the computer/phone for a holiday listen to our annual Chuckmas episode! This year we listen to th 7th and final of St. Schuldiner's albums with Death, 1998's The Sound of Perseverance!

DEATH METAL DECEMBER continues with the newest from Canada's Tomb Mold: The Enduring Spirit!

For our first episode of DEATH METAL DECEMBER, the boys dig into what came of the unexpected return of the worlds biggest (virtual) death metal band: DETHKLOK, including Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar, and DETHALBUM IV!

The boys return from a Thanksgiving hiatus for one more album before Death Metal December: The 10th Anniversary Remix & Remaster of Deafheaven's 2013 classic Sunbather. 

Back to 1985 for the exuberant sophomore album from California's D.R.I., Dealing With It! 

Back to 2017 we go for Fit For An Autopsy's fourth studio album, The Great Collapse!

Oh yeah. They got the moves. This week, the boys dig into the world of Electronicore with the undeniably catchy head-bobber TEKKNO by Germany's Electric Callboy.

Baroness is a band that has always been somewhere on the periphery of our awareness, but after coming across this album at the record store recently, it was time to finally give them a listen!

If there's anything that we have learned, it's that there is no cultural or ethnic traditional music that cannot be fused in some form with metal to create something worthwhile.

Sometimes when you go to live in a cabin in the woods for a while, you write Walden. Sometimes, you write a kickass progressive death metal album. Joe Duplantier of Gojira did the second one.

For the last album of this Non-Metal month, the boys veer into punk territory to talk about Big Black's second (and final) album, the in-your-face Songs About Fucking. 

This week, non-metal September continues with Kacey Musgrave's multi-grammy winning pop country album, the remakably low-key Golden Hour from 2018.

The Residents are the wierdest band in the history of music, and this album may have fried the boys brains. The only thing coherent about this episode, which is theoretically about the album Wormwood: Curious Stories from the Bible, is the blasphemey.

Non-Metal september is here, and we're kicking it off with an album we weren't able to squeeze into our last non-metal month in march, The Record by Indie supergroup Boygenius!

Before we get into a non-metal territory this September, it's time to give a listen to the classic debut self-titled album from System of a Down!

After five long years, Philedelphia Prog Death Metal masters Horrendous have finally blessed us with a new album, Ontological Mysterium, and by jove the boys are gonna give it a listen!
