The whole LMF Podcast crew is back for this episode. We're breaking down Disney's announcement that new films might not necessarily be going to theaters and may go the streaming route from now on. This could have some serious impact on theaters, which might become extinct.  HBO Max is moving forward with its Green Lantern series featuring some fan favorite Lanterns. Will this finally give DC some much needed boost in its entertainment race with Marvel?

With most of the big winter films moving to 2021, we discuss all of the significant shakeups to the movie calendar including the dramatic upheaval of the DC Comics film slate. How much longer will we really have to wait for the next installment of Batman? When will we see The Flash, Shazam: Fury of the Gods and Black Adam. And how much further will we have to wait for Wonder Woman 1984? And now Tenet is apparently making a quick shift from theaters to a Blu-Ray/DVD release for the holiday season. We break down all of the various possibilities with the third Spider-Man film including the arrival of Jamie Foxx reprising his role as Electro and rumors of Kirsten Dunst and Dane DaHaan coming back as well. Finally, we discuss the potential of a Hollywood bubble similar to the NBA bubble.

We're Marvel Studios and Star Wars heavy on this episode. First up, we talk about the rumored Samuel L. Jackson Nick Fury series, rumors with WandaVision, recasting one of the Agents of SHIELD characters for the Hawkeye series and the potential of a Young Avengers film. On the Star Wars front, Empire Strikes Back burning up the box office charts once again, Why is Alden Ehrenreich claiming the Star Wars franchise is no longer a huge part of his life anymore? Jayce breaks down his excitement over the possibilities of Disney considering doing multiple Star Wars projects involving Darth Bane.  And then I discuss the latest news with Jamie Foxx potentially returning to his role of Electro, but this time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Movie schedules keep changing and Disney finally relented and moved Black Widow to 2021. We break down the fallout to the launch of Marvel Studios' Phase 4 lineup and our anticipation of WandaVision following the latest trailer. We break down the somewhat surprising news of The Walking Dead ending with Season 11 and a spin-off starring Carol and Daryl. We question if yet another TWD spin-off is necessary at this point especially with two essentially bulletproof characters.  Tenet made its box office debut and nabbed $20 million, but was that a success or a failure for such a heavily touted movie? And what does this mean for other blockbusters still planning to come out this year? We also discuss Mulan's success as a premium release on Disney+ and if that moves Black Widow up further.  With big changes coming for the Academy Awards, we debate how this will make actual changes to the Oscar bait films coming out over the next few years. If nothing else, this will force Hollywood to actually be inclusive instead of just talking about the need for it during award shows with pitiful representation. 

In this episode, we have an emotional discussion on the death and impact of Chadwick Boseman. What it means to lose such a surging superstar and the complicated debate on Marvel Studios' options going forward with Black Panther.  Additionally, we talk about John Boyega's impassioned comments about Star Wars fandom and the treatment of minority characters in the Sequel Trilogy.  We still question if Tenet is worth the possibility of catching the Coronavirus as Disney's New Mutants bombed at the box office with a weak $7 million opening weekend. 

DC FanDome was a smashing success and the boys break down all of the big reveals and what had us most excited. There was a lot to talk about from the final Wonder Woman 1984 trailer, the first teaser of The Batman and Zack Snyder's Justice League trailer.  Has DC managed to turn the tide and gain some much needed momentum? We discuss it along with another installment of the world famous Dummies of the Week.

For this episode, Jayce and I discuss the first round of DC Fandome, which has now shifted to a two-day event. We break down what we're hoping to see from the film branch of the DC Universe. And what does Zack Snyder have in store with the Snyder Cut trailer that a lot of fans are anxiously awaiting? There's some big news on the Marvel movie front with Olivia Wilde being tapped to direct a film in the Spider-Verse with all signs pointing to it being Spider-Woman. We also discuss the likely delays for Marvel series on Disney+, why The Wachowski Sisters are the dummies of the week and more.

DC Comics has announced the end of several new and long-running titles with more cuts expected. In this episode, I'm breaking down my thoughts on the end of Justice League Odyssey, Hawkman, Teen Titans, Young Justice and more. 

We break down the need for a dramatic take on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, which skips the comedy and instead goes for a more realistic take on being black in America.  Why did Ruby Rose leave Batwoman and do the fellas think her explanation is so simple? With the recent layoffs at DC Comics, Chief and Jovon consider three ways DC Films could help turn the tide by creating stronger movies to generate more interest in the comics.   No more catalog 4K movies coming from Disney in a sign that hints that the format might not have as long as legs as its DVD and Blu-Ray predecessors. 

We break down a ton this week from Mulan's Disney+ debut, The Matrix's trans connection and more John Wicks coming.  Mulan is making its Disney+ debut in an unconventional manner that may pave the way for other upcoming Disney films like Black Widow. The Matrix is back in the news as one of the co-creators Lily Wachowski confirms the narrative that the 1999 film was a transgender allegory. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first X-Men, we reflect on Bryan Singer's original film and its impact. Then we have a little fun and rank the X-Men films from X-Men to X-Men: Dark Phoenix. As Warner Bros. continues catering to Christopher Nolan with Tenet's release, we consider if they should have veered away from his guidance with the DC Universe after The Dark Knight Rises based on the success of the rest of the DC Extended Universe films.  Jon Boyega is done with Star Wars. Would we want to see more of Finn or do we blame Boyega for being done with the franchise thanks to the subset of toxic fans? And we've got a very quality Dummy of the Week to wrap this milestone edition. 

We break down the news about the new Batwoman, Javicia Leslie, and if she has us more interested in watching Season 2.  Halle Berry backed out of a role to play a transgender man prompting a debate on the appropriate level of authenticity for roles.  Lee Daniels is working on The Wonder Years from the perspective of a black family in Alabama.  And at what point do studios tap out and decide there's nothing to salvage with the 2020 movie season outside of the VOD market?

It's a busy episode for us this week as we hit on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DC Extended Universe, the Star Wars saga and black supremacist worrywart Terry Crews. Ray Fisher's shares his real thoughts on his experience working with Joss Whedon as he completed Justice League after Zack Snyder departed the project. With Snyder releasing his finished cut and the opportunity to have his character Cyborg's story fully being told, Fisher now isn't holding back on his issues. Why do some of the fellas have an issue with his stance? Anthony Mackie put Marvel Studios on blast for its lack of diversity particularly behind the camera. Do we agree with this take or think he's going after the wrong studio?

Michael Keaton might be back as Batman? Gunner, Jayce and I discuss how the DC Extended Universe could work with this big shake-up. How does this impact the Flashpoint adaptation? Where does this leave Jeffrey Dean Morgan's possible return as Thomas Wayne? What role does Ray Fisher's Cyborg play in the Flash standalone? With theaters still closed we consider when blockbusters will be back and question if it's not just time for 2020 films to go to the on demand format or just wait until 2021. Also, we talk Stargirl, a new CW/DC Universe show that deserves more attention and love. Finally, I talk about Followed, a cool found footage thriller that actually sparks some new life into the genre. 

This week we're talking about a very special screening of Black Widow for "underserved communities" and the questionable stance of trying to get a theatrical release this summer for Tenet.  DC Fandom is coming with news on TV series and the potential of some more footage of the Zack Snyder Justice League cut and the new challenge of finding fresh content.  Plus, what do we think of the Bold and Beautiful's unique way of filming love scenes? It's all here and more in another crazy episode.

It's been a wild few weeks giving Jayce and I plenty to discuss for this episode. From Hartley Sawyer's retroactive firing from The Flash based on tweets he made before joining the series, Starbucks' tricky Black Lives Matter support and more, we tackle a lot this week.  The Bachelor franchise couldn't even wait for us to get this episode out before announcing (finally) its first black Bachelor, but a lot of our discussion is still valid and might prove useful as Matt James begins his journey.
