Mastering a skill is something that can be done through learning, trying and practice. But mastering one’s self is the greatest challenge. We can try to teach self-control but ultimately we will fail. It is the work of the Holy Spirit inside of us that gives us the power to bring our body, thoughts and actions into submission. Gaining control over desires and passions by the work of the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to win at life. Speaker:  Ron Baker

Today, gentleness can often be viewed as a trait of weakness. We can wrongly view aggression or dominance as strength. However, God treats us with gentleness and we are called to do the same. God empowers us to express power with gentleness, from a place of humility and love to lift a person up rather than beat them down. Speaker:  Ron Baker

In a culture that preaches “if it no longer serves you” cut it out of your life, there is a lack of faithfulness. Faithfulness to a job, friendship, romantic relationship, etc. We all desire things or people to be faithful to us, but don’t put in the effort to reciprocate that. But faithfulness is often the opposite. As faith is a gift from God, we are divinely persuaded to trust in God even when it’s hard and we don’t understand “why”. Speaker:  David Baker

What do we define “good” as? The goodness of God is closely related to his kindness. Less from a righteousness perspective, but one of kindness towards something or someone. Acting in goodness is not for our own personal gain or benefit but for the benefit of others. Speaker:  Ron Baker
