It is my belief that kids need to learn to contribute to the smooth running of the home and it is through doing chores that they can get the opportunity to do this. It is only through doing chores that they will learn the skills required to be independent, and to becoming contributing members of a team and society. Have you ever given your judgment much thought? Are you even aware of when you become judgmental? When I “woke up” and realized just how judgmental I was being of my son who has ADHD, it was a shock. However, I am just happy that I at least woke up to it and raised my awareness of it because it helped me build my relationship with my son in so many positive ways.
