  • Why Are You Blessed?

    30/03/2018 Duração: 30min

In this week's episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie discuss this thought: If a person has no knowledge of God's blessings, does that make it wrong for another, with knowledge, to enjoy the blessing? Of course not. The responsibility then lies in (1) sharing the blessing, and (2) sharing the knowledge. There are many interesting factors here, but what is definitely true is that all of us walk in blessings according to the knowledge we have. Therefore, what may be a blessing to one, may not be to another. Great discussion! http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6423420

  • Grace Without Effect

    16/03/2018 Duração: 30min

"Hey, I am what I am..." Have you ever heard someone say that? (or maybe you've said it?) It's more of a common response than it should be when making excuses for personality or behavior. The Apostle Paul said the same thing, but he added some truth to his statement. "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect..." (1 Corinthians 15:10). In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about this very important understanding of grace. The Bible instructs us to not take the grace of God in vain, which means without effect or even in an improper manner. In most cases, taking grace for granted is not intentional but understanding how God intended grace to operate in our lives can be a huge help!

  • Year Round Love

    16/02/2018 Duração: 31min

In typical February fashion, we chose to talk about LOVE in this episode of Identity Advantage. But the real question is, should this topic be isolated to one month or day each year? Of course not. In this week's podcast, Daphne and Angie talk about the challenges of following the "love guidelines" in 1 Corinthians, chapter 13 and how as humans, it's pretty difficult, but WITH GOD, we can do what His Word requires. Such a good reminder that LOVE is a year-round work of grace! http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6264486

  • How To Completely Change Your Wardrobe

    31/01/2018 Duração: 32min

What you choose to wear typically fits your mood or your day (such as work, play, etc). So isn't it interesting that the Bible says LOVE is your all-purpose garment? In other words, it's important to first know God loves you. And secondly, that love should be something you choose to wear everyday. Our identity is often defined by our wardrobe (or we hide behind a certain persona that we want others to see us as). The same is true in a spiritual sense. In this week's episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about the parallels between a natural wardrobe and the spiritual clothing God has custom-made for us--and how it defines who we are. "So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose

  • Rejection, Part 2

    26/01/2018 Duração: 30min

Last week we talked about Rejection to Serenity. There seemed to be more to this topic because there are two sides of rejection -- the one hurt and the one doing the rejecting. In this week's episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie look at rejection from the other side. Why do we reject others so quickly? Or a better question is, why do we guard ourselves from accepting others? There can be many reasons, but as Christians our responsibility is to reflect Christ, so the question remains. P.T. Barnum (founder of Barnum & Bailey Circus) started his shows with people the world rejected as different. But his philosophy was this: "A human soul, 'that God has created and Christ died for,' is not to be trifled with. It may [be different]-- but it is still an immortal spirit." http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6188291

  • From Rejection to Serenity

    19/01/2018 Duração: 30min

Pain can't be avoided. Oh how we wish it could be! But there is a path to peace and healing. In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk transparently about disliking the pain of rejection and why it still hurts even if you know your identity in Christ. As mentioned in the podcast, here's the Prayer of Serenity: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference. http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6160900

  • What Is Victory?

    05/01/2018 Duração: 32min

Isn't that a good question? What is victory? It almost depends on who you're asking, as to which answer you'll receive. In this new year episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about victory: what it means, how you get it, and maybe most importantly, what you learn when you get a revelation of victory. "Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!" (1 Corinthians 15:57) http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6115851

  • What Is Christmas To You?

    22/12/2017 Duração: 27min

We really want to know! What is Christmas to you? When you think about Christmas, or wish someone Merry Christmas, what do you think of? In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie discuss how we've somehow put Christmas in one category and Easter in another. But the Bible says Jesus was born to save people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). So how beautiful is it that God had the forethought of what we could only see in retrospect? Tune in and share in the comments what Christmas means to you! http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6075383

  • Overcoming Hurtful Words

    15/12/2017 Duração: 33min

This week on Identity Advantage, we were excited to have Janell Rardon, Life Coach and Author of Overcoming Hurtful Words, in our studio! In her book, she writes: [endorsement cite="Janell Rardon"]"Without even knowing it, the stage became a foster parent of sorts. Feeling right at home under the bright lights, my identity formed under the influence of the three A's: affirmation, approval, and the addictive applause of others."[/endorsement] Those three A's have tried to define many identities, including our own! Her new book is available this week in stores and at her website. Go get your copy today and enjoy our conversation! http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6033008

  • Forgotten Prayers

    08/12/2017 Duração: 28min

Are prayers ever really forgotten? If God keeps all our tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8), don't you think He keeps our prayers in remembrance too? In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about those prayers given to God initially like a seed of hope, but then seemingly forgotten over time -- or were they? It brings up the question of: how does a seed grow? And, do seeds grow dormant? All this and much more is answered in this very encouraging conversation. Tune in! http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6018448

  • Who's Your Master?

    01/12/2017 Duração: 31min

"Don't you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey?"  This was Paul's question to the Romans. And it's our discussion this week on Identity Advantage. Daphne and Angie talk about being a slave of sin or a slave of righteousness because there's not a third or fourth option. We are one or the other. But when we realize the choice we have, and we choose correctly, the Bible says we become "useful for the Master, prepared for every good work." http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/5996864

  • The Head Game of Salvation

    17/11/2017 Duração: 32min

Here's the question we answer on this week's podcast: is sharing your faith an offensive move or a defensive move? Maybe, like us, you've never thought about that? In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie have special guest Pastor Ben Delay share his recent experience of ministering in China and how this question or thought even came up. There seems to be a "western" way of evangelizing that may be hindering us from sharing our faith more fully. You will be blessed by this discussion! http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/5951308

  • The Most Dangerous Trap

    10/11/2017 Duração: 34min

Jesus said, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are in My way [an offense and a hindrance and a snare to Me]..." (Matthew 16:23, Amplified). In another translation, He said, "Get away from Me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me..." (NLT). What was He talking about? What could possibly have been the most dangerous trap that even the Son of God recognized it for what it was? In this episode, Daphne and Angie address the issue of self-pity and the risk of falling prey to the same temptation Jesus faced. Peter had no idea that his simple suggestion would cause the reaction he received from Jesus, but there was a very good reason why Jesus responded the way He did. The bottom line however is, having a good understanding of our identity in Christ can actually become a reservoir the Holy Spirit will use in such times (that all of us will be subjected to at some time or another). • Frogs, Flies, and Other Things

    27/10/2017 Duração: 29min

What Are You Allowing? You're probably familiar with the story of Moses, Pharaoh, and the plagues of Egypt. But there's an often overlooked portion of this dialogue between Moses and Pharaoh that describes a lot of people today. In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie discuss why Pharaoh put off until tomorrow the deliverance he could've had today? And this made us ask ourselves, what are we allowing (or tolerating) in our life that we could've already dealt with and been done with a long time ago?! Great episode this week! http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/5880571

  • Is It Okay to Pray For Myself?

    20/10/2017 Duração: 29min

This was a question we recently received. More like a statement from someone who had spent most of their "prayer time" asking God to help others and then realized they could go to God themselves. In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about praying for your needs and approaching God in faith. Charles Spurgeon wisely said, "Asking is the rule of the kingdom." And we'll add: and it's available to all! http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/5854292

  • How To Identify Condemnation

    13/10/2017 Duração: 30min

People in general fall into two categories: (1) those who don't quite know what condemnation is, or (2) those who know all too well what it is and hate how it effects them. In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie address the topic that plagued them for far too long too -- condemnation -- what sin uses for it's evil purposes against believers. If you've had any question about this topic, or more specifically, desire to know how to identify it and discern the truth concerning the devil's use of it, YOU NEED TO TUNE IN. Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus..." http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/5831097

  • Don't Get Stuck at "Almost There"

    06/10/2017 Duração: 29min

If we were traveling, you'd understand the concept of "almost there" and the craziness of staying in "almost there" mode versus eventually arriving at your destination. So apply that to life... In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie have a GREAT conversation about faith friends, temptation, the bait of Satan, and the power of allowing the Word of God to examine you! This week's podcast was so rich in how-tos and why we respond certain ways. If you've ever felt stuck, you need to listen in! http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/5808011

  • Rise Up!

    22/09/2017 Duração: 32min

Depression and oppression are unfortunate attacks in our world today. No one is exempt from them. But... there is a far greater truth at work in us! In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about our place in Christ. The Bible says we are seated in heavenly places in Him, far above all the aches and pains of this world. Yet Jesus came to preach the gospel to the "poor" --those crouched under pressure, who have had the wind knocked out of them. In other words, when life hits us, we don't have to stay down. We can (and should) RISE up! http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/5759390

  • Love Has No Face

    08/09/2017 Duração: 28min

Hurricane Harvey changed the way we see things. How about you? We know God isn't the author of destruction, but the Bible says He uses things for His good. This hurricane brought out a core goodness in humanity that we almost feared was lost. And for that we are thankful. In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about the natural and spiritual parallels of what we observed with Hurricane Harvey and how love became an action. Love doesn't look on the outside. Love looks at the need. Love is compelled to save. Period. Isn't that how we're always supposed to be? http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/5714277

  • No More Cheese & Crackers

    30/08/2017 Duração: 31min

What if we could tell you the ONE THING that is a really BIG DEAL to God? Wouldn't you want to know (1) what it is, and (2) more about it? In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie reveal why righteousness is not just a big deal to God, it's THE biggest deal to Him! And with all things that are of great value, there are great benefits, privileges (and responsibilities) that accompany our gift of righteousness. And never forget: Righteousness is a BIG deal! God sent His Son for it. Jesus died for it! As for the title, you'll have to tune in to find out why we named this episode No More Cheese & Crackers -- but you'll be glad you did!
