Maine Hits - Nic Lops and Danica Gleason
06/06/2019 Duração: 51minPodcast favorites Danica Gleason, now owner of Maine Hits in Scarborough Maine, and John Gleason host the Coaches Corner Booth. Danica and John decided to buy Maine Hits from founder and longtime softball coach Bob Williamson this past spring. One of Danica's first calls was to former professional baseball player and Maine native, Nic Lops. Nic will oversee baseball operations while Danica does the rest. Nic is a graduate of Cheverus High School in Portland and St. Joseph's College in Windham. Along with his duties as baseball director at Maine Hits, Nic is currently an assistant coach at both of his alma maters. This summer you can also find Nic coach third base at the Sanford Mainers games in the New England College Baseball League.

Originally from Scarborough, Maine, Stan was a standout diver at the University of Maine at Orono. After serving our country in the military, Stan found his passion in the sports performance world. Cutting his teeth working with the Boston Red Sox organization, Stan has worked his way to becoming one of the go-to guys for baseball pitchers in Southern Maine. Opening Skolfield Sports Performance in 2018, Stan is training some of the areas best athletes at Train Maine in Westbrook and OA in Saco. Great guy with a wealth of knowledge!

Last season, which was is first, he lead his team to birth in the national tournament while providing support to Matt's duties as the Asst Athletic Director. After turning a dwindling Westbrook program into a Eastern Maine Conference Champion, Hutch set his sites on his alma mater as his next challenge. Known as an intelligent, intense coach around the conference, Hutch takes us back through his origin story. He credits the influence of older wrestlers and former coaches. He also talks about the positive effects that wrestling has had on him as an adult. Eli Small (former Deering Wrestling Coach), Derek Webb (former Deering Soccer Coach) and Austin Payne (#coachescornerbooth soundman) show natural promise in their debuts as hosts.

A member of the UMF Hall of Fame, Dan attributes his coaching success to building strong relationships with his players while setting high standards in order to maximize their ability. An outstanding person and conversationalist!
