Jesus shifted us from the struggle to possess to the fight to believe that what God said is true. As believers we have been given an inheritance. Don't let the devil persuade you that you are lacking. Don't let him convince you to cast away your birthright to meet a temporary need. Jesus is a master carpenter. He has to tear down the wrong in our lives before He can build us up. During this construction phase we are vulnerable. The enemy will take advantage of this and tempt us to leave our inheritance. Don't allow his lies to overwhelm and overcome you. Don't allow him to persuade you to walk away from what Jesus is doing in your life. Don't cast away your confidence. God is with you. You are effective. The goal of the enemy is to get believers to devalue and/or abandon their inheritance. Don't let him draw you into the gates of hell. Don't fall for the opportunities to sin that he sends your way. When it seems as though you are under constant siege from the enemy, ask yourself, "Why am I still putting up with this?" Trust that God has a word for you, and that He has already gone before you. When the woman from Shunem constrained the prophet to come to her home to eat she was pursuing the presence of God, the Spirit of God, the Word of God. She looked past what she lacked and instead pursued God out of gratitude for what she had. She prepared a place of peace for God in her home. Offense has the power to shut you up and shut you down. The devil will erect fences of offenses to keep you out of your promise. When the opportunity for offense comes, resist it! Don't let it slay you. God is faithful. Press on with humility and bravery and receive the promise that is waiting for you on the other side. God is calling us to arise and shine our lights in the darkness around us. To do this, we must give Him our painful past and trust Him with our future. God is stirring us up because our light has come. His glory is upon us to empower us and to help us accomplish those things He has called us to do. The manifestation of the power of God through us is limited only by us - what we can receive and conceive. God prepares us for the fruit of answered prayer by cleansing the things around us, on us, and inside of us. Once we have been cleansed we can produce much fruit. In the scriptures Jesus says that He is the vine and God is the husbandman. Another name for husbandman is vinedresser. A vinedresser prunes, trains, and cultivates the vine so that it may reach its full potential. The Father is our Vinedresser. He knows what we need so that we can effectively travel the path He has set for us. Confusion sets into our lives when we stop submitting to His caretaking and try to go another way. We are spirit beings created by God to take dominion and subdue. He never intended for us to dominate each other but rather to rule over our own flesh, our own homes, and over the darkness around us. Judgment must begin in the Lord's house, and we live in that time. As members of the body of Christ, the Lord wants us to act as "salt" so others become thirsty for Christ and righteous living. We are the light that helps others to see and bring clarity. It is God's job to judge the outsiders. As believers of the real church, it is our job to give a hand to outsiders instead of pointing fingers. We must provide the outsiders Jesus, not judgment! False teachers will act religiously to assert themselves to the vulnerable. As people follow their desires, they will look to these teachers to tell them what they want to hear.
