The root of this track are from the original demo of the song of the same name from Beatnik Turtle's first album. Jason kicked it up a level by adding lots of new stuff!

Here's a nice motivational song for a Tuesday - a return to work after a long weekend for those of us in the U.S.

Since today is a Monday, but yet not a work day in the U.S., we dedicate this song to all those consultants not working today. It's from our forthcoming album, ALL IN A DAY'S WORK. (The pre-release of the album is already available at iTunes, but the CD's not due until October...probably because the CD duplicators all have hired consultants.)

We decided yesterday's "intro" wasn't enough, so here's a prelude.

This song is an intro. You might ask "an intro to what?" Well, tomorrow's song, of course!

This is another Beatnik Turtle TwitterSong. This one was inspired by a Twitter post from Evo Terra.

Inspired by a documentary about the Battle of Denmark Strait, Matt wrote the lyrics to this song. While writing, he did additional research on Wikipedia. Given his 1970s musical roots, Tom immediately thought "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" and set it to music. You can also support the memory of the Mighty Hood and her crew at H.M.S. Hood Association, established in 1975 by a group of several former Hood crew members, including two of the three survivors of her sinking.

This song is dedicated to that lonely notepad with important looking notes sitting on the conference room table. It'll lie there day after day waiting hopelessly for its owner to reclaim it.

Tom recorded the original version of this song in 1988 when he got his first 4-track recorder. It was re-recorded a number of times over the years as technology evolved to do something new with it. Finally, now in 2007, this definitive version appears at TheSongOfTheDay.com. The song got its name from a guitar sound in the original versions that reminded Tom of the sound that a CTA train used to make in the underground tunnels. Now that the CTA trains crawl at a snail's pace, they no longer make that sound. Neither does this version of the song, but the name has stuck...
