As a wholehearted die hard Wentz fan, this is hard to admit without feeling guilty about it: JALEN HURTS IS A SMOOTH MOTHAFATHA. Saying so doesn't change my loyalty but it apparently has changed the Eagles front office since the 2020 year began. Wentz had a bad year, and maybe starting 2020 with his first self earned spot in the NFC EAST championship last season without an injury (until mid first quarter) was kind of the smoke and mirrors to his Eagles career.  I digress, I am sick of the Twitter slander regarding Wentz overall play, but I am even MORE annoyed with his play this season as well. Although fans new and old have short memories and only remember Foles holding the Lombardi in February 2018, little do they realize that Carson Wentz was the reason that trip was EVER a reality. No one cares now, I get it, but RESPECT THE JOURNEY at least. My brief rundown in two parts because I accidentally hit something on my keyboard, and also my hope for 2021, if that at all matters. 

Tomorrow could be the game to dictate how the Eagles should continue for the remainder of the last two games of the regular season. With a 4-8-1 record and Washington at home still left to play, there is still A LOT to determine. Glancing at the stats for both teams this season made the picture look not as bleak as it seemed.  This could possibly come down to the wire OR be pretty much done by halftime. Either way, knowing the valuable players for the Eagles that are now injured, are way more important than the injuries on the Cardinals. Rodney McLeod with the MCL, LCL and ACL , sprain, Darius Slay with a concussion and Malik Jackson with one as well. These are MAJOR needs in the DB area as well as a possible loss to the D line to sack or blitz Kyler Murray with if they were available .  Granted Jim Schwartz doesn't like to blitz, but if he schemes to do so at Kyler then it would make a lot more.  Murray is rumored to have a sore shoulder allegedly so whether or not he has any difficulty throwi

MISS ME WITH THE WENTZ IS OVER TALK!  This is one win folks!  ONE! Now if this was after a 13 win run like 2017 then i would be hype lol BUT 2020 has done this team a disservice, and they are are still 4-8-1 and barely a chance at a Wildcard spot. The Washington Football team lost  today and are STILL playing better ball then this team.  I for one am shocked by how solid the offense was tonight, but even more APPALLED by the  lack of defense in garbage time in the last minute of the game giving  the Saints a TD. I am DONE with Jake Elliott and his spastic kicking abilities. I  even tweeted that Sarah Fuller needs a flight scheduled to meet with the Eagles in the end zone because Elliott is more frustrating than Wentz can  be. Either way, I know us fans will be annoying this week but i decided this win means NOTHING until Jalen can keep this going for three more weeks and we all KNOW by now how unpredictable this team can be.

THIS IS A POD OF DESPERATION!!!! I vary rarely pod BEFORE a game but knowing this win or loss means NOTHING for the season, I felt compelled to release some tension. Look, I am not excited about Jalen Hurts replacing an unsuccessful Carson Wentz today, but Carson is his backup. Which means if Hurts gets Hurt we are back to Wentz. Now, anything can happen but also a WIN could happen too.  Do i hope they win? Always. Will it feel good to see a well coached game? HELL YES!  I still feel like Carson didn't help himself this year with his overall reckless play this season. I also don't think Coach Pederson could save him from himself without an OC or a well staffed Coaching team.  The defense still lagged this season at times too, and Schwartz has been exposed MANY times on his playcalling. Neither side has been GREAT, but the defense has forced more comebacks then the offense could bank on.  The pandemic definitely played a part in an overall weird NFL season, but it doesn't seem to expose as

Jalen Hurts has been chosen as the new starter QB for this Sunday's game versus the Saints. I have mixed emotions but i get the move. I also don't expect much change. The change in QB is not the fix the Eagles REALLY NEED. It's the mentality that does.

This IS A TWO PARTER!  wHY? Because apparently, this 2020 ish has infiltrated my NFL team and not even COVID had anything to do with it. The 2020 Eagles are no longer a contender in the game of "SUPERBOWL OR BUST" talk for at least two more seasons.  This episode is my realization and familiarity with the franchise QB and the Coaches who have now failed him being a familiar theme for the organization. Stop me if you heard this analysis before from...oh, a YEAR AGO? Still, we are here wondering now if the franchise QB even existed. Is Howie Roseman onto something with the "QB Factory" comment during the NFL Draft? I was is his last rites before no longer being in control of the personnel decisions going forward? Why did Coach Pederson look so lethargic and almost DRUNK during the post game Zoom conference? I can't even watch post game shows anymore. Forget the fact the commentators have now DEMEANED the front office for it's FAMILIAR mistakes with talent selection, and now with Twitter being a ventin

Now with a 3-6-1 record you would THINK there would be no reason to give an opinion of a game that was so clearly out of reach. OH NOOO, this train is still dragging into another week. Seahawks, Saints, Dallas and Washington again...IT AIN'T OVER!!! Except it might be for hoping past next season that Carson Wentz is the future QB for this team. There is a lot of sloppy play, nagging injuries, and new faces with no experience to really thwart this team to a realistic chance of a playoff spot. My optimism died before the bye and became more numbing after the loss to the Giants in another winnable game. Daniel Jones looked again like a track star and the Defensive Coach, Jim Schwartz even admitted it was "embarressing".   I want to curb my hatred for this team but they are all not helping each other. It's sad to know that some of the rumors and whispers of Doug Pederson's questionable style of Coaching causing too comfortable a place for players. Now that the bye week is over has anything REALLY changed for this team?  That was most likely a dumb question but isn't that what we ask ourselves EVERY season post bye week?  Usually the Philadelphia Eagles do pretty well with a week off BUT, this hasn't been an ordinary year.  W entz and Doug seem like they are on different pages of the playbook and it has caused idle speculation from the media due to the LACK OF COGNITIVE THINKING from Coach P's press conferences. Carson is obviously a polarizing subject in the NFL these days due to his amazing play and also amazing mistakes on the field. One wonders if he is aware he can cost the team sometimes. I even almost joined the haters and was DONE with rooting for him after week 4.  Nothing seems to fix itself UNLESS there is a 4th quarter with a big play in the end zone for a touchdown wiping away three quarters of messy non cohesive play by the team as a whole. Part 2 of the previous pod regarding the finale before the bye week with Eagles facing Cowboys. AJ is annoyed, tired, hopeless regarding the play and sudden disjointedness of this seasonn's Eagles offensive unit. Even though the Eagles won this matchup, 23-9, questions remain as to why so many interceptions and fumbles happen weekly with QB Carson Wentz? Is he regressing STILL or do he and the Head Coach not understand each other? Its starting tobecime obvious that there needs to be changes in playcalling and personnel that might not just involve the QB. Regardless of lack of preseason like all other 31 teams the Eagles main problems are themselves. Is that fixable in the same season?

This feeling of "It's Dallas week" is not as exciting as it was last season. Maybe it's the stress of the recent protests and latest victim of a cop shooting in the air, maybe it's cause the Dallas team is on their 3rd quarterback and therefore Wentz and company shouldn't have too much competition. Or maybe it's the upcoming "it's so damn obvious who will win or maybe it's not" election next week coming that is causing fans to have a mild opinion about this upcoming game on Sunday night that's killing the buzz. Or maybe it's just AJ and her own HIGHLY DISTRACTED psyche that is only excited about Dallas Goedert being allowed to practice on the field since missing in action last month. In the pandemic NFL season what is there really to be angry about? COVID isnt leaving just like the Eagles will not be able to rid themselves of a tie that will hang onto the 1-3 record they now own. Was Pittsburg the last straw before returning players comeback? Does it matter? My random thoughts.
