The podcast is hosted by Doug Petit who has spoken to well over 100,000 parents and teens about the perils of poor choices when it comes to alcohol and drugs. The discussion was open to the public and open to any and all comments. Most of those who showed up opposed the sale of recreational marijuana. The City Council's position was much closer as they voted 5-4 to opt out.

Normalized Hypocrisy

Alcohol is entrenched in our psyche as normalized. On the discussion of whether or not to allow two businesses to sell recreational weed to adults, suddenly; family values prevailed in my community. They voted to Opt Out.
