Remember the sled hockey game I was able to attend last week? One of their players is today's guest, Valerie Fatica. She's the city's Disability Manager, in addition to her on ice exploits, and Valerie is heading up the Snow Angels. First... Karma, and a terrible loss. A complete gut punch to our childhood's.

I was nearly spellbound by my latest programming board meeting with my Zepf Center duties earlier this week. Before we get to Steve Kapela and most of the alphabet after his name, and his voluminous gambling insight... Breaking a podcast rule my Dad slapped me with. I was in disbelief, and mild panic when Mary Bilyeu was my caller ten for Taylor tickets earlier this week. She won fair and square after 'suffering' through all our of 'rap' music :) Before a visit with Mary and HER visit to Maumee Valley Chocolate and Candy... Be a City of Toledo Snow Angel. A climbing place is coming to the area in 2023. I have an idea for the Zoo's Lights Before Christmas. BG's savagery on UT. I'm disappointed - as if she cared - in Taylor Swift for not preventing this mayhem.

Even with 7 wins, UT has had a pretty forgettable season.  I'm with this entity AT the school, but support from the city AND Mayor. No no no. 370 times in a year? The NFL doesn't even do that to players anymore.  The minks have escaped! Two friends are Mother Ginger this year.  Janet Amid visits!

You may have seen that meme I posted yesterday. My Dad is here, his girlfriend went on a cruise, that has been rerouted because of an impending storm. It headed for possibly the most terrible place in the hemisphere. Trail gets its lanes back. Stay away from Airport and Byrne.  Levies passed, a friend lost. It was a little good a little bad for my desired political outcomes. And that's how it should be!

OH DEAR FORGIVE MY

Wasn't expecting the Mitch Miller situation to arise again. And it ended as quickly as it returned. A question, when/how is someone redeemed? The answer is, it's different in all of our eyes. Alex and I had a blast hosting the Does Toledo Have Talent event at the Maumee Indoor.  Aaron Carter died, and Jessica Simpson's Pottery Barn ad drew attention.   I fear Twitter will die. The beginning of the end of social media. And it's STILL too busy.   

So Bethany is a DJ. And a prom queen. Things we didn't know! Well before that, a recap of her EXPENSIVE family trip to Disney World. Alex encountered two equally unsettling Halloween costumes on Monday. Taylor fans and her concert ticket prices. Bethany DJing and what those kids are into. 

They're nice, but I don't really do milestones or awards. Though I will gladly accept the serendipity of my good friend Dorothy Mockensturm from Good Grief, visiting to talk about Discovering Good Grief, on this momentous episode. First... Wow. Go Falcons. Go Bill Berry and Stritch!

I'm not going to give you a warning that this could be upsetting. It's nothing more graphic than what you've heard here before.  Tia Tiggs, Andre's daughter, is here. She shared her mental health journey when I visited her Dad's class in the Spring. By all logic, she shouldn't be here now. I'm glad she is, and want you to hear her story.  Tia's around the 15:00 mark. First, of course Taylor is intentional, no debates is OK with me, the Apopcalypse, and a new Netflix show. 

If you see all the violence on the news that has you (rightly) upset, then you have to see the good efforts on the news in our community that can be remedies for said violence. Is that asking too much?! Fewer rallies, protests and praying and more spreading the word of places like Center of Hope, The Program, Young Men and Women for Change, everything the library does.  Starbucks may automate before you can unionize. Time to stand against Kanye. The lines been way crossed. We all thought the same thing about that Tremainsville home. Waterville amphitheater vote bumped to Nov 28.

It was Taylor's time and no one else's as Midnights arrived. A pet costume contest. Toledo gets some love on a MASSIVE Instagram account. Lots of theft, all over.  A wrap up of the first season of House of the Dragon.

A friend/mentor suggested I connect with Amy Remer way back in January. And through the Ability Center the connection finally happened about a month ago. I didn't invite Amy on to talk about her disability and its advocacy. I found her story to becoming a mom absolutely extraordinary. I hope hearing what challenges Amy and her husband have maneuvered through give you some inspiration and motivation. Whether it's to never give up, keep fighting, owning your attitude, something will strike you, in a positive way, from Amy's story. Whenever I see something of note regarding labor, I digest it and then often share it with recent guest Erika White. I have an idea, one that's unlikely to work, to help workers gain more ground. Then, Connie White from the Sylvania Prevention Alliance about next Saturday's drug take back day.

Matt Killam from the Metroparks joins us to talk all things happening across the park system, and what's on the cusp of arrival at its new crown jewel, Glass City Metropark, but first... Roofs (or rooves!?) or medical debt. And we're glad Holy Toledough made an adjustment away from their poorly named donut. 

Bethany, and the whole family, are headed to Orlando next week. She can't really afford Disney, and Madi likely won't remember much of it anyway. But she's already got the Sunday Scaries, or the End Of Vacation Blues and she's still days from leaving. Her husband is a master pumpkin carver. Why didn't Lake HS look further into the background of the teacher that just resigned? $28 at Taco Bell isn't that crazy. Another unusual emotional support animal.
