Materialism and entitlement have led many of us down a path of discontentment. In this key text, Paul reminds Timothy that the greatest acquisition in this life is godliness with contentment, and exhorts Timothy (and us) to avoid the dangers of the love of money and to pursue contentment in what Christ has given us.

Singleness is a hot topic in Christian culture, and a season that many Christians understandably struggle with. But Paul teaches us that every Christian has a God-glorifying purpose, and the path of biblical singleness is a gift that must not be wasted because it affords a better opportunity than marriage to cultivate undivided devotion to God.
