    27/06/2018 Duração: 11min

In this "Rev" episode, I talk about vanity, improving negative self-talk and the perception that we project on ourselves through others. Lately, I have been calling myself 'vain' - I've been a little obsessed with my appearance and I wanted to dive deeper in to why I have been having these thoughts. Additionally, I am the kind of person who will have a totally made-up conversation in my head about someone else's thoughts about me. Does this sound like you? Listen in to today's episode for some perspective shift and tips on how to rewrite the story we tell ourselves about our appearance. Support for this podcast comes from listeners like you! For the price of a cup of coffee, you can help make episodes like this one possible. • REV: Productivity & Moving Beyond Resistance

    20/06/2018 Duração: 09min

In this "Rev" episode, I talk about resistance; resistance around anything that might be holding you back from being productive or moving the needle forward toward your goals. I've had recent conversations with friends about how to break through the resistance in order to accomplish more and today I'm asking you to think about 3 things when you start to feel overwhelmed or resistant to tackling something on your list: A quick mindset shift: consider what you are pursuing something that you 'get' to do, an opportunity, a privilege, versus something that you 'have' to do, a chore, a burden. Sometimes, this simple mindset shift can give you the energy you need to get started Just start! Easier said than done, I realize. But, this could be applied to a less-than interesting project with a quickly approaching deadline, this could relate to exercise, or even something as simple as preparing lunches for the next day or putting away the dishes. Just start - give yourself some time, 5-10 minutes to see how you feel,

  • EMom Ep41 Ashley Nowe 41: Holistic Healing Through Nutrition and Movement with Ashley Nowe of Get Mom Strongmixdown

My guest, Ashley Nowe of Get Mom Strong is on a mission to help moms regain their strength, health and confidence. It isn’t easy to prioritize yourself after you become a mother.  It is hard to make healthy eating choices when you are exhausted, and it is even harder to find motivation to exercise. As a former competitive athlete, after the birth of her first son, she looked better than ever.  But the birth of her twins, who she carried to full term was an entirely different story and it threw her for a loop.  Her journey to regain health and strength has taken longer than expected, and it has been an emotional ride.  This is what spurred me to launch her website & brand, Get Mom Strong. As a certified health coach through the institute of integrative nutrition, my guest uses both movement and nutrition to help support moms make themselves a priority. Listen in to hear my guest talk about: why she never uses an ‘all or nothing’ mentality when it comes to diet and exercise how she’s apprenticed under a pe

  • REV: Say 'No' More (Mon Amour!)

    13/06/2018 Duração: 12min

In this "Rev", I talk about setting boundaries and reducing overwhelm by saying 'no' more often. I share the important reminder that saying 'no' to things that no longer serve you creates space for more of the things you really want to say 'yes' to in life. This is something that I am working on myself, as I tend to overbook, overextend, and experience FOMO often. I also am a people-pleaser and until recently would never turn down an opportunity or an invitation and eventually find myself regretting my decision and feeling stretched too thin. I hope today's reminders are helpful and would love to hear you experiences with saying 'no' more in the comments!
