North Korea’s parliament has unanimously moved to enshrine its nuclear programme in the country’s constitution. The state news agency KCNA explained that the new constitutional amendment would establish North Korea’s pursuit of a nuclear force as the basic law of the state. Kim called to accelerate the modernisation of nuclear weapons in order to hold the definite edge of strategic deterrence” against perceived threats, like the United States and South Korea. Kim says the North Korean nuclear force-building policy has been made permanent as the basic law of the state, which no one is allowed to flout with anything.

The UK Ministry of Defence, says the contract with BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce and Babcock represents a significant milestone for both the UK and the trilateral AUKUS programme as a whole.The new submarines, known as SSN-AUKUS, will be the largest, most advanced and most powerful attack submarines ever operated” by the Royal Navy and will combine world-leading sensors, design and weaponry in one vessel. The first of the submarines will be delivered into service in the UK in the late 2030s and the first Australian ones will follow in the early 2040s.

President Joko Widodo launched the service, which connects the capital Jakarta to Bandung, a top economic hub. The railway is named Whoosh, a Bahasa Indonesia acronym that translates to time-saving and reliable. The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani highlighted that in today’s global technology landscape, innovation, entrepreneurship, and access to capital are critical components of a strong digital economy. He stated that the primary objective of the ministry as regards this will be to stimulate the growth and sustainability of startups, with a specific focus on those developing innovative solutions for critical sectors of the economy. He added that increase capital raised by Nigerian tech startups 50 per cent year-on-year from ~$1bn/yr in 2022 to $5bn/yr in 2027.”

India says the temporary move was due to security threats disrupting work at its missions in Canada. The UK's competition watchdog says Microsoft's revised offer to buy the Call of Duty maker Activision Blizzard opens the door to the deal being cleared. The Competition Markets Authority says the updated deal appeared to address concerns it had raised. Under the new proposals, Microsoft will not buy the cloud gaming rights owned by Activision Blizzard. Its original $69bn deal was blocked by UK regulators. Under the new offer, Microsoft agreed to transfer the rights to stream Activision games from the cloud to the French video games publisher Ubisoft for 15 years.
