    Hollywood’s writers' union says it has reached a preliminary labour agreement with the industry’s major studios in a deal to end one of two strikes that have halted most film and television production for nearly five months. The Writers Guild of America announced the deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the group that represents studios, streaming services and producers in negotiations. The three-year contract agreement – agreed to after five marathon days of renewed talks by negotiators between WGA and the AMPTP – must still be approved by the guild’s board and members before the strike can be declared officially over.

Mr Kindiki reiterated the government's commitment to bring order to parts of the Rift Valley region that border South Sudan. The directive was given a day after armed bandits killed three people in an attack. For years, bandit attacks and cattle rustling have been a cause of instability in northwest Kenya.

The air safety agency, ASECNA, saysNiger's skies were open to all commercial flights, except for those belonging to or chartered by France. Paris is a former colonial power and has around 1,500 troops in the country. Niger reopened its airspace earlier this month, after closing it for nearly four weeks. The West African nation says it had shut it down because of the threat of intervention from neighbouring countries.

The Managing Director of CPPE, Muda Yusuf says the clearance of the backlog of forex obligations should be accorded high priority to restore the confidence of domestic and foreign investors. He suggested that the newly appointed CBN management team should, in addition to the existing Investor and Exporter FX exchange window, create an autonomous window in the banking system where the currency can trade freely without any encumbrances.
