The Queenin Crew is all about unpacking learned behavior and testing the psychology of others as well as ourselves. This summer was no different... As a group (or maybe it was Shantel’s decision lol jk) we decided to swap roles and see what it was like to act like lady, but think like a man. Yes we used a few tips from Uncle Steve & many others! For 60 days or so we tested this theory and ohhhh chile, where do we start?!?

It's been a "Boss Babe" Summer where we had the opportunity to interview some of the most influential, professional women in Houston, TX. On our second installment of the Boss Babe Segment, we are sitting with Monique White who has been in the broadcasting business for 9+ years. Monique has been the face of a show, the hostess with the mostest, and is constantly growing her audience by being her unapologetically authentic self. The Queenin Crew has the inside scoop on how Monique came from being homeless, depressed, and suicidal. Her transparency is key to her success and she is proud of it. As promised, the Queenin Crew is bringing you guys a brand new segment! Our Boss Babe guest of the week is here as an author, master of sales, and true woman for the people. Joyce Johnson is chatting with us about her experiences as her "brother's keeper" while handling her business as a top salesperson in her company. As women, it can get difficult to find our place, and it can be even more difficult as a black woman. Check out our interview with Joyce for tips in marketing yourself regardless of if you are the minority and how to approach those hard conversations to get you that raise. 

"On Wednesdays we wear pink!" Every person alive has encountered the classic mean girl. The girl who has something to say about every woman that walks past no matter how beautiful or nice they may be. The girl who combats every compliment with an insult. And the girl who is silently sitting beside the mean girl looking totally uncomfortable. The Queenin Crew is no exception. Today we're discussing our encounters with mean girls, as well as the times we have caught ourselves being those women. Now that we're older, we are more aware of how hurtful it can be to participate or just be a bystander. We have officially removed ourselves from the Mean Girl club with no intentions of renewing that membership.

At one point women had no choice but to rely on their male counterparts for all of their needs. These days of women rights, feminism, and breaking barriers, we had to ask ourselves "have we become TOO independent?" Is the fact that we are go-getter women hindering our relationships? Are we at fault for making it happen and not being apologetic for it? Especially as a single woman or a single parent - how does your your day-to-day tasks as a lone soldier reflect in your relationships? Check out this weeks Queenin Podcast episode!

A lot of us are so busy getting a check, planning that next BIG move, or just trying to hold ourselves above water. Lala brought us a topic that had us questioning "Who Are You?" Not so much of what you do professionally, but what drives you? What is your reason for pushing through? Some of us struggle with this and some of us are in our zones. We're discussing how to stop living in that 10% of what matters most, and allowing God to open our lives to be living 100% Gucci! God didn't create us to pay bills and go to work. We are ELEVATING today!

Why you always lyinnnnn? So many people just tell lies on top of lies. And at the end of the day, the truth always comes out. So what is the point of lying? Instead of trying to figure out the "why", the Queenin Crew is exposing our lies. Lies we've told to get out of something and lies we've been told by other people. When the truth comes out.... (major side eye).

When you live in the times we do now, sex is everywhere. On your tv, the radio, social media, EVERY WHERE. The Queenin Crew had a little different experience. We grew up in a "sex is bad. PERIODT" time frame. Today we're talking about how we were introduced to sex, the reasons behind our decisions to engage, and the importance of knowing how sex effects us individually and the relationship you had with the person you are giving yourself to.

The Queenin Crew is all about upgrading your lifestyle, living your best life, being you best self. And this week we are discussing your 30 second elevator pitch about you! Every person has been in a situation when someone says "Tell me about yourself". And every person has taken the pause to think "Who am I?" We're trying to get out of the habit of questioning ourselves and start SELLING ourselves. Tell that person how amazing you are, let them know what your accomplishments have been. Don't be ashamed, but take pride in what God has given you and done in your life.

Once again the Queenin Crew is bringing y'all another topic to check yourself before you...y'all know the saying...This week we're discussing how are our beliefs and thoughts effect our actions/success. A lot of us speak or believe some negative bullblues about ourselves which in turn hold us back. The Queenin team is back at it again! Last season we discussed our individual passions versus what we felt our purposes were. Of course we want to align with God and want to do His will. But what does that look like? We decided to backtrack to our previous episode's personality test in combination with our spiritual gifts. While some of us are running from God's gifts, some of us are living in our best lives. Check out the episode, and go take your spiritual gifts test!

There can be a thin line between a woman who is perfectly juggling it all and a woman who is losing herself to everything around her. In light of this wonderful Mother's Day and Mental Health Awareness month (May), the ladies of Queenin sat town and discussed how we protect our mental space and how we are handling our anxieties, worries, etc. Life can be hard but allowing yourself to be honest with yourself can be a pivotal change in your mental health. 

Back again! We have our sister friend Brandy joining us again but this week we're discussing our dating habits 5-6 years ago versus now. From "man-ish" ways to dating multiple people, we spoke about all the good tea. Qui has characteristics of a man, Monica is starting to take control of her dating life, and La is the same ol G. (just kidding) Check us out as we talk about our growing points and how our dating lives have hindered/excelled.

The Queenin Crew didn't get the City Girlz from the 305 but we did get Bah-ran-dee from the 713! This week we are sitting down with one of our closest friends, our sister in Christ, our personal Issa Rae to touch bases on what does joy and happiness look like in our lives. We're tackling the taboo subject of if Christians should practice yoga and how to reach out when you're feeling down.
