 Lydia Hance is the Founder Artistic Director of Frame Dance. She has been named an Emerging Leader by Dance/USA and has led Frame Dance in performances from the Galveston pier onto the METRO light rail, in the backs of U Haul trucks, downtown tunnels, and into museums, stages, and warehouses for the past ten years. A champion of new music composers, her work deepens interdisciplinary and multi-generational collaborations, and investigates the placement of dance in our lives. She is a choreographer, curator, filmmaker, educator, and dance writer who passionately believes dance should be a part of our every day lives. She holds degrees in Dance Performance and English Literature from SMU and trained at the Taylor School, Graham School, Tisch School of the Arts, Limon Institute and SMU.

ERNESTO MARTINEZ BUCIO The Future (2018), narrative Writer/Director Mexico Ernesto Martínez Bucio was born in Uruapan, México in 1983. He graduated with a BS in Communication at the ITESO (Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente) and also graduated with a degree in filmmaking at the CCC (Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica). Bucio is a two-time grant winner of the prestigious FONCA (the Mexican arts and culture national foundation). He is also an alum of the Berlinale Talents. His short films have been official selections in important festivals worldwide such as Cannes, San Sebastián, Rotterdam, El Cairo, Morelia and FICUNAM.   

This week Jason talks with Loris Simon, the Founder of The Literally Short Film Festival.  As a filmmaker herself, the  festival focuses on film around the world less than 25 minutes.

Ya’Ke Smith, known for his unflinching and veracious style of storytelling, is a rising voice in independent cinema.His films have received world-wide acclaim, screening and winning awards at over 90 film festivals. The Director’s Guild of America, the Student Academy Awards, HBO, Showtime, and the City of Buffalo, NY, which proclaimed February 23, 2013 as Ya’Ke Smith Day, have honored him. His short, Katrina’s Son, screened at over 40-film festivals and won 14 awards. The film was also eligible for the 2012 Academy Award in short filmmaking. His debut feature, WOLF, which NPR called “an impressive piece by a young director,” premiered at the SXSW Film Festival and has gone on to screen and win awards at festivals across North America. The film is now available for download via several Video-on-Demand outlets. His short film, dawn., made its television premiere on HBO in February of 2015, and screened on the network for two years.

Stephen Bent is from Baytown, TX. He is native to Louisiana however he has lived in Baytown, TX for 27 years. He is a Sterling High School graduate who took courses at Lee College then studied film production at Houston Community College. He currently works at Lee College in the box office and technical crew of the Performing Arts Center. He has written, produced and directed 4 short films and has worked on a few films as a PA.  His latest project, "Brunch" is currently in a few film festivals.
