The Restless Creative

I’ve watched a lot of my creative friends be consumed with something that I like to call “The Creative Struggle." 3. Sometimes the struggle is mental illness, be that anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder. But sometimes, The Creative Struggle is restlessness. Those are my creative friends who are generally unhappy with where they are in their careers or relationships, my creative friends who are goal orientated and struggle to focus on the present because they are always looking ahead. My creative friend who takes on too much and over commits themselves, because over committing is easier than thinking you’re not doing enough. Or my creative friend who lacks confidence in their work and so they creative less, therefore creating less things of actual value which feeds into their confidence issue. This week I decided to talk about my experience with failing, particularly, the experience I've been having with failing and criticism this past week. I got some feedback that my podcast was kind of sad and it made keeping up with the show hard.
