Whenever there are many reasons to be gripped by fear I choose to rather focus in on the word of God and what it says because the more I focus on the promises of God in His Word, the less opportunity I have to focus in on the fear-filled circumstances. A Christian is not trying to be right with God because the Christian has been declared right with God because of their faith in (reliance upon) Jesus and what He has done for us. Righteousness is something you receive, and when you receive it, it makes you born again. As a believer, you are 100% right with God, 100% of the time.READ MORE

 So many Christians fall into this trap, too. They are more concerned with what they need to do for God than on what He has done for them. They wrongly believe that they need to do something for God in order to be received by Him or blessed by Him. We should relate to God based on His performance; what Jesus has done for us and not what we do for Him. READ MORE

The enemy has done a great job in reducing Christianity to "fire insurance" and as a result many are missing out on friendship with God. The enemy has also reduced Christianity to be about how you can become a better person, but Christianity is not about self-help or self-improvement - it's not about self! READ MORE

 We need to ask ourselves as the church, as Christians, whether or not we "so greatly love and dearly prize the world" or not? Too many Christians don't love the world as God does. We tend to love ourselves more! We should love the world so much that we're willing to give (of ourselves) to help rescue the world (in an evangelistic sense). READ MORE

 The failure or tragedy of yesterday may have been horrific - mourn it, but move on. If you're just going to camp there and focus on how bad it was you'll become miserable, ineffective and unfruitful. READ MORE

Passivity will not accomplish much. You will not fulfil your calling and purpose while waiting for it to happen. Paul said that he pressed on. If you’re not pressing forward by being purposeful in your decision-making and being intentional in moving towards your God-ordained destiny, then you’re not going to advance and you’re probably going to get frustrated pretty quickly!READ MORE

If you cannot forgive yourself, you’re setting yourself up as higher than God. That’s pride. You think that you know better than God but the reality is that God knows you better than you know you, and yet he’s chosen to forgive you – who are you not to forgive yourself? We need to forget the things that are behind, whether they are successes or failures, we need to forget them and move on. Yes, we can mourn the negative and celebrate the good, but we should not camp in them; keep moving forward! Believing that God has good plans and a future filled with hope for you is one thing, but actually living in those plans and that future filled with hope is another thing. You should want your “future filled with hope” to be your “hope-filled present.” Embracing your hope-filled future and bringing it into your present will involve you letting go of where you are and moving forward.  READ MORE
