Rev. Stone returns to begin a new summer sermon series, The Good Life - Relating to God and People Through the Ten Commandments. Grace always precedes Law. But we have been created in Christ Jesus for good works.

This chapter is actually a rebuke from the apostle Paul to a divided church. Love is a an affection and desire for the good of others resulting in actions that bring about their good. 1. This week we welcome Rev. Kirk Blankenship. Kirk brings us a message from Exodus 20 after Moses brings God's people the Ten Commandments about the fear of the Lord. 1. The fear that draws us. 2. The fear that protects us. 3. The fear that blesses us.

Rev. Stone brings us a message this week from Mark 9 about the Transfiguration of Jesus. The road to glory is paved with suffering. The transfiguration is an encouragement not only Jesus and to the disciples but also to us today. The presence of Moses and Elijah demonstrates that Jesus fulfills both the law and the prophets of the Old Testament. God reveals his infinite glory. When we seek glory in created things, the Father says no - listen to Jesus.

In this week's message Mark's Gospel story takes a pivot turn. Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ and Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection. Rev Stone explains who Jesus is and what he has come to do. How then shall we live? The self-centered life, the safe life and the self-serving life must be put to death.

Jesus feeds the 5,000 and then the 4,000 in two separate miraculous events, yet the Pharisees don't get it, and demand another sign from Jesus. The disciples don't get it either. Jesus then heals a blind man but it is an unusual two-stage process. 1. Spiritual growth comes in stages. 2. We need to remember God's faithfulness, who He is. 3. Continue to live by faith in Him alone.

In this week’s passage, we discover some of the essential elements of genuine faith: desperation, hope, and humility. Jesus honors such faith by identifying with us and giving us exactly what we need.

The week Rev. Stone returns to our sermon series through the Gospel of Mark. What really defiles a person? Is it things that are external or internal to us? Jesus explains in this passage how sin is mis-located and mis-defined. It shows why we needs God's grace: 1. we all have hearts like the Pharisees, 2. we need to see our brokenness. 3. we go to the cross because there Jesus has supplied the grace we need.

He has risen! He has risen indeed!. Rev. Stone brings us an Easter message of hope found in Jesus' resurrection. Where do you find hope in a broken world? How can we worship and experience joy in the midst of suffering?

Rev. Stone brings us a Palm Sunday message this week about the Coming King of Zion from Zech. 9:9-10. We are called to rejoice at Jesus' coming for a number of reasons.

This week we take break from our sermon series from the Gospel of Mark to explore the story of the Tower of Babel from Genesis 11:1-9. This is a story of pride and insecurity that applies to us today. God brings these people to merciful discipline.

In this message about traditions and commandments, we see how the Pharisees take the Sabbath and the law seriously and add to God's law their traditions and rules. Their legalism elevated tradition to the same level as law. They were more interested in merit than mercy. Traditions are skin-deep, man-made and perverse. This passage reminds us that we are redeemed sinners and recovering Pharisees. Unfortunately the sermon for March 19 will not be available online.

This message focuses on one of the most amazing of Jesus' miracles, found in all four gospels, the feeding of the five thousand. Jesus is compassionate. Jesus is powerful. Jesus is cooperative (he takes what we have and builds on it). Jesus is totally sufficient. Jesus is the true bread of life!

Rev. Stone brings us a message from Mark 6 about "king" Herod Antipas and the death of John the Baptist. 1. There is a pattern to sin 2. Freedom has boundaries 3. A guilty conscience is not a repentant conscience 4. The gospel is a gospel of repentance.

This week Rev. Stone brings us a message from Mark 6 where we see two collisions: between Christ and his community; and between the disciples and their mission field. We see a collision with unbelief in the world and in the church. We need to live by faith alone in Christ, rather than Christ plus something else.

This week Rev. Stone brings us a message from Mark 5 where Jesus heals a woman and Jairus' daughter. How are these two different people that Jesus healed different and similar to each other and how are the same as us today? 1. The kind of people Jesus brings to faith. 2. The kind of faith people bring to Jesus. 3. The kind of faith Jesus grows in people.

This week Rev. Stone discusses Jesus power over evil as Jesus heals a man with many demons. While this man was a slave to these demons, we are all similarly slaves to something. Learn how Jesus displays amazing power over the evil that owns us!

This week Rev. Stone speaks about Jesus' power over the storm on the Sea of Galilee and how it apples to fearful circumstances in our lives. Storm equation #1: The situation + my inability = fear, hurt, anger. Storm equation #2: The storm + my inability + Jesus = hope joy rest and peace. Why is it so difficult to live by faith?
