It’s suicide awareness month and Radio GAG has plenty to talk about. Our featured interview with Cator Sparks describes the changing world and changing identity of men in our culture, and the suicide of his own father. September is Suicide Awareness Month and the rates of gun suicide are particularly high among former and current military members. Join Radio GAG host Ti Cersley and guest Marissa Edmund breakdown a report from the Center for American Progress about Gun Suicides and military members. Since this interview, 988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. 988 is available 24 hours.

Suppose you had taken out a restraining order against your former partner, because they beat and threatened you and menaced you with their gun. Then the judge tells you, this restraining order will protect you and your family from a confrontation with this person, but you cannot restrict them from carrying a gun. Enter Zackey Rahimi, who claims he has such a right even though he’s used a gun intentionally and recklessly many times. United States vs Rahimi is the next Second Amendment case that SCOTUS will hear. Radio GAG talks with Rachel Graber of the Battered Women’s Justice Project about this case and the effects it could have on intimate partner violence.
