Miranda Briggs founded the Fight the War Within Foundation in 2020, two years after the loss of her husband, SPC Garrett Briggs, USA (Ret.), to the 22 a Day veteran suicide epidemic. The loss occurred just two short weeks after the birth of their daughter, Essex. We got the privilege to speak with Char Fontan Westfall who is a Gold Star Spouse and now author of the book “A Beautiful Tragedy”. Her husband Jacques Fontan, was KIA during Operation Red Wings 15 years ago and Char writes about her journey of grief and hope in her book releasing in August.
