He has taught a variety of communication courses with the main focus of better understanding oneself and others. Often, his research projects and the courses that he taught, complemented each other and led into innovative directions.  Dr. Furlich has been an associate professor at Texas A & M University since 2018 and served as an assistant professor there for five years prior to that.  He has presented at many conferences, including: DFW Metroplex Linguistics Conference, Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education Conference, E-Learning Conference
