The first white athlete to join Colin Kaepernick in his protest of the National Anthem was gay. Megan Rapinoe said her stance  in support of Kaepernick was influenced by her being gay and feeling she never had the same rights as other Americans. "Being a gay American, I know what it means to look at the flag and not have it protect all of your liberties," she says. We discuss the controversy.
