The 2016 Rio Summer Olympics has a record 49 out gay, lesbian and bisexual athletes. Team LGB is winning medals and coverage of LGBT issues is as high as any Olympics. There have been commericials featuring transgender and gay athletes, marriage proposals on and off the field and a larger awareness that sports is no longer off limits based on one's sexual orientation or gender identity.
