Dorothea Puente, took her role as the neighborhood grandmother seriously. She helped those in need, frequently donated to charity and ran a boarding house for those society had seemingly cast aside. From an outsider's point of view, Dorothea was a saint, an angel. While in reality, something dark was lurking underneath. My guest this week, is Shane Bugbee, an artist, writer and cultural archeologist. Shane is the author of the book, “Cooking With a Serial Killer, recipes from Dorothea Puente’. Shane wrote to Dorothea in prison, got to know her, and worked with her to create a cookbook of her recipes which offer a chilling and unique insight into the life of this prolific female serial killer.
