I'm Ready! A Spongepod Squarecast

Captain Eric here as we set sail on the very first episode of SpongeBob SquarePants! This episode first premiered on May 1st 1999, directly after the Kid's Choice Awards as a "sneak peek" before it's official premiere on July 17th 1999. You can't get anymore "classic" than the episode "Help Wanted". It set the stage for this beloved series that continues to go strong 20 years later. As an extra in this episode i'll also take a look at "Reef Blower", a short silent cartoon that airs in-between the first two segments of the first episode. It would be almost 10 years before we would see another three segment episode after "Reef Blower". The reason for the short length was to fill in the missing time from "Help Wanted", due to it only lasted eight minutes instead of the usual eleven.
