Christmas cards, letters, and manuscripts are just some of the ways everyone from war poets to schoolboys expressed their feelings about the enormity of World War One. To mark the centenary, the British Library has launched a special exhibition called "Enduring War - Grit, Grief, And Humour " which will display some of their literary treasures for the first time alongside other personal objects such humorous magazines and even a knitting pattern for balaclavas.
