In this episode we meet Senior Lecturer Dr Naomi McLeod from the Liverpool John Moores University, England. Naomi McLeod is Deputy Lead for the series Research Inform Pedagogies Group. Her research has a focus on children's participation and agency, and empowerment of professionals in the research field Early Childhood Education. Other focus of interest in her research are questions on democracy and aesthetics, participation and sustainability, and her interest lies foremost in critical perspectives. She wants us, as early educators, 'to deconstruct our personal views and assumptions, and embrace openness and respect for new understandings'. Professor Tarja Karlsson Häikiö, co-leader of the research platform Educational Research in the Arts is interviewing Naomi McLeod. Naomi and Tarja have collaborated in teacher education of students in early years education and in writing several research publications through the years.
