The 1986-batch Orissa-cadre officer, who was asked to take over as acting chief immediately, in his first order, removed the entire team probing the bribery case against Asthana. All sensitive cases including the Vijay Mallya and Agusta-Westland cases will be personally supervised by new interim CBI chief.Now one wonders whether the Modi Government is protecting their own hand-picked officers against whom serious charges of corruption are being investigated..
