Dr. Frank and Laura Sayre's son Daniel Sayre lost his life to a hiking accident in Pololu Valley on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Daniel Sayre Foundation Dinner Sat. Sept. 5 honors Hawaii County Fire Department members that have gone above and beyond the call of duty.Aloha or evening attire. Silent auction starts at 4:30 PM. The five star gourmet dinner buffet & awards starts at 6pm.Funds raised go to purchasing much needed equipment for the Hawaii County Fire Department. The needs for this year are vast, including rope rescue equipment, rescue communication systems, ATV's, rescue boards, automatic defibrillators, and jet skis.
