Jim Bridenstine, is a strong proponent of commercial space ventures, including mining on the moon.There exist several examples of treaty and treaty-like agreements that have attempted to provide a framework for regulating the commercialization of space, or more accurately planets and celestial bodies. Examples include the Outer Space Treaty, the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies of 1967, and the Moon Treaty of 1978.
