Dr. Parul Dua Makkar - Life Interrupted: Dr. Dua's Survival Guide. This is episode 663 of Teaching Learning Leading K12, an audio podcast. For the past dozen years, Dr. Parul Dua Makkar has owned and run her own successful dental practice in New York. She also helped publish, and contributed to, her brother’s book, Life Interrupted: Dr. Dua’s Survival Guide. It was released after Dr. Dua, a dentist, died from oral cancer. She is now an outspoken advocate to educate doctors and patients on risk factors, early detection, and the treatment of oral cancer. This fall, she became a Wellness Ambassador, as well as a Fellow, of the American Dental Association.
