The state of the Carolina Panthers wide receiver core was a topic of discussion entering the 2023 NFL season. The Panthers opted to trade away top receiver DJ Moore to the Chicago Bears in order to obtain the No. 1 overall pick, which led them to Bryce Young. In an attempt to rebuild the wide receiver room, Carolina added veterans Adam Thielen, DJ Chark, and Damiere Byrd and drafted rookie Jonathan Mingo.Unfortunately, to this point, it's been a snakebitten group as Byrd was placed on IR during camp and is no longer with the team, Byrd missed the opener in Atlanta, and Thielen along with a few others have dealt with injuries. Even more concerning was the Panthers wide receivers catching eight passes on 15 targets for a lowly 63 yards.
