‘Now You See Us: Women Artists in Britain 1520-1920’ is an ambitious group show at TATE BRITAIN that charts the 400 year long journey that it took for women to become recognised as professional artists which paved the way for future generations and established what it meant to be a woman in the British art world. On Tuesday 14 May 2024, at the Press View of the exhibition ‘Now You See Us: Women Artists in Britain 1520-1920’, RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey was joined by Tim Batchelor, Assistant Assistant Curator of the exhibition, to find out more about the 400 year journey that it took for women to become recognised as professional Artists along with an insight into the work of some of the 100 Women Artists featured in the exhibition. About the exhibition ‘Expressionists - Kandinsky, Münter And The Blue Rider’ - The exhibition ‘Now You See Us: Women Artis in Britain 1520-1920’ covers the period in which women were visibly working as professional artists, but went against societal expectations to do so.
