Twenty-four people have now been injured on a stretch of State Highway 8 near Lake Pukaki in South Canterbury in just a couple of days. Witnesses to all three crashes say conditions were foggy and the road slippery with black ice. Bikram Ghosh has had a number of close calls on the stretch of road and he spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
