Our soul is neither good nor evil. It is simply that part of us where we emotionally experience whatever we’re focused on. Before man fell, his soul was under the direct influence of his spirit, which meant that his emotions were continually influenced by the life of God. When man became a sinner, his soul became influenced by his flesh, which meant that his emotions were driven by the lusts of the flesh.
