I was in the middle of writing a book. I’ve never written a book before, and I kept thinking, "How am I going to get to the end of this?" It's a huge project, and I thought of myself as being in the middle of an ocean. All I could think was to keep swimming. Just don't stop. You can't look up and say, "Oh, I'm so far away; it will never happen." You just stay right where you are now and swim. In anartha-nivṛtti, we have to do that.
