Funding To Be Sought To Improve Safety Of Clarecastle Road

Informações:

Sinopse

Funding is to be sought to improve the safety of a road in Clarecastle village where lives are said to be at stake. Clare County Council has this week committed to carrying out "a complete assessment" of Patrick Street in Clarecastle with a view to applying for Department of Transport funding in order to implement traffic calming measures on the route. It's after Clarecastle Sinn Féin Councillor Tommy Guilfoyle raised the matter at this week's meeting of Ennis Municipal District, calling for a raised pedestrian crossing to be put in place in an area where he claims vulnerable road users such as children and the elderly are at particular risk. If funding is approved, the Council says works can be carried out in 2025, and Councillor Guilfoyle says they can't come soon enough.
