One big challenge on the IELTS is timing on the Writing test. Today we’ll help you with a great time-management strategy. You have a total of 60 minutes to do the whole Writing test. Task 2 is 250 words and Task 1 is 150 words so you need to spend more time on Writing Task 2. We recommend 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2. However, don’t start with Writing Task 2. Do Task 1 first. You also need to allow time for planning.
