God's character is of the type that loves to use grace to overturn human conventions in order to accomplish his purposes. Cutting against the grain of the patriarchal culture of the time, God uses Deborah to lead an entire nation. This patten of grace is actually what is ultimately normative in God's Kingdom. Grace overturns human conventions, but the gospel of Christ makes grace *the* convention of the Kingdom. Do not ever let human conventions dictate for you what God can or cannot do through you.
