Sound Bhakti

This is an especially valuable time for all of us to be in the dhāma together and to be there in the mood of service—just to serve the dhāma by appreciating it and by being aware of how glorious it is. And finally, I say that the most important aspect of a pilgrimage like this, is the hearing and chanting that we do. Of course, this is pointed out by Kṛṣṇa at Kurukṣetra when all the sages were present and they wanted to hear directly from Kṛṣṇa. And He says: yasyātma-buddhiḥ kuṇape tri-dhātuke sva-dhīḥ kalatrādiṣu bhauma ijya-dhīḥ yat-tīrtha-buddhiḥ salile na karhicij janeṣv abhijñeṣu sa eva go-kharaḥ (SB 10.84.13) The sages said, "Woah, that's the most amazing thing we ever heard." And what did Kṛṣṇa say? He said, "When you go to the dhāma, don't go there just to take a bath and leave your sins—just a little dip and I get purified." He said, "Go there to hear from the holy sages; go there to hear about the realizations of Kṛṣṇa's pastimes and the Bhagavad-gītā, and all these things in that rarified atmosph
